Opposing viewpoints
There is a philosophy that it is good to hear opposing viewpoints which I agree with I think it is good to keep an open mind but how come almost every time you hear or Listen to an opposing viewpoint it becomes so obvious why your logic is correct and How listening to some of these fools is such a waste of time.

Is it really listening to a new viewpoint if you aren’t adding information that you didn’t previously take into account or is what you are doing just applying confirmation bias onto something you have already made your mind up about? In which case yeah, I can see it coming across as being stupid.

I agree with you, only on the first part.

Because no one is objective nor ever makes up their mind based on rationality. The information you consume speaks to you either as true or false based on a preconceived notion, it's never used to come to a conclusion. Rationality is used after intuition, gut feeling, natural inclination or whatever you want to call it to justify and communicate the idea or opinion. Many people will deny this because they believe themselves to be rational and objective, especially the type abundant on the misc who love someone like Ben Shapiro but they are delusional.

you need to have some humility and make an honest assessment of your life and realize that maybe you're not as smart as you think you are.

I agree with you that perception as well as intuition can play a reasonable part in a decision making process however I think it would be ignorant to say that people are not objective or Rationale in their decision making.

Usually it helps if its not the same bullshiit you've heard 1000x before
If someone brings a fresh viewpoint to something then I'm more likely to think about it instead of ignoring them
No way I'm gonna listen to "women make 70% as much as men" for the 2000th time knowing that their logic is already bullshiit

I think I've escaped the prison of rationality, and I don't listen to stupid youtube debates or search endlessly for new philosophy or ideology anymore, and that satisfies my ego. At least I can admit it.
I am projecting ITT, but aren't we all?

I don't believe being rational is a prison, Nor do I think that acknowledging ones attempt to at the bare minimum be rational and Objective directly results in the feeling of superiority. I also don't think there is anything wrong with believing that if one attempts to be rational or Objective thus potentially making him superior presents any sort of problem as within reason it is probably not inaccurate to hold such a belief.
I don't feel as though I search for philosophy or Ideologies either or Ever have for the most part I just try to analyze my own thoughts and Decision making as objectively and Rationally as possible.
Sometimes, I project I think it is almost impossible to avoid doing so entirely but I think if one can identify what causes one to do so or why and Understand why one feels the need to project I think one can make the choices to speak of beliefs and Opinions without feeling right or Wrong all while explaining your viewpoint without expressing it as fact unless it is fact.

Eventually you turn into a dog chasing it’s tail. Theirs diminishing returns to being open minded and logical past a certain point it becomes pointless.

Sure, I agree completely. I think that is the one thing a lot of people get wrong and I feel as though that is almost the root of a lot of peoples suffering. I know that is something I have struggled with in many ways and I think it is best to be able to admit you're not as smart as you think within reason.
