There's no upward mobility or job security anymore. Back before this was ushered in around the late 90s and early 2000s, people would work a lifetime for the same company and have a nice retirement around 50 years old.

Now you see people jumping around jobs on a yearly basis. You need a dual-income household to support a family now, which killed off the nuclear family and homekeeper wife who raised and looked after the kids.

The problem is the name.

The golden era for workers was 1940s to 1980s. Job security, reasonable hours, could buy a house and raise a family on one income. That has been systematically taken away from the mainstream population for the benefit of a small elite. It is 100% legit to want to fight back against that.

But in that golden era nobody was "antiwork". People were proud to work, proud to have jobs, proud to provide for their families.

Yeah, the name is stupid. I don't think most people have an issue with working. The problem is the economic factors that no longer reward hard work.

All those things were systematically destroyed for workers and these days the only ones benefitting are shareholders, boards, and CEOs of these globohomo corporations that monopolize everything thanks to government regulations and lobbying.

Over the past few decades, this caused the massive insane wealth increase of globohomo billionaires (to the point we are going to see the first trillionaire soon) and stagnant wages for workers at the same time that inflation runs rampant. Now we have billionaires flying and playing around in space while the average middle class worker struggles just to scrape by.

They pay slave wages or low salaries, never give you a raise, and don't care if you leave because there's hundreds of thousands of people waiting to replace you. This is why so many people jump around jobs now....because they can't get a raise so its better to just try and find a new job that pays more.

Back in the 1940s to 1990s, you had job security, reasonable hours, could support an entire family on a single income, could buy a house (average home prices were only TWICE the average salary now they are over EIGHT times the average salary), own a car or two, take regular vacations, and still stash away savings.

That is all gone. Younger generations will be working until they are dead, and they won't even see things like social security that they've paid into their entire life.

Weird that the pay started to stagnate almost the same time as when women started to enter the workforce in mass. Who would've thought that a group willing to work for less would drive wages down...
