I still do this. I track all my weights and sets and reps. I have notebooks dating back 10 years.

Thought every serious bodybuilder did this.

Back when I first started weight lifting at 25 years old , I kept a log book , but that stopped after a few months , as I knew what my weights would be the next time around.

A year ago I was actually putting the days that I worked out in my iPad’s calendar , that way I could look back and see when the last time I had done legs ,back , chest etc ,and what weight I was using .
It’s a nice way to track and see what’s working and what’s not

I have been lifting for over 30 years.

The trick to lifting forever is to make it fun, challenging, and not stressful. So, you hit the gym, do your body part, reps, set, listen to music, and repeat.

If you make things complicated, you will burn out and quit.

About five years ago crossfit was popular and all of these yuppies were doing all of these super high intensity workouts, having WOD workout assignments, and where is that all today?

It's dead.

You can tell the guy in the pic is a yuppie who spent his entire life at business and none on health so now he's getting ORGANIZED and going to make fitness his new job!

He will fail.

I've never seen a dedicated lifter acting like that because it's all organized in their mind and they're enjoying it.

I generally agree, I basically workout for fun now and go into the gym and do whatever sounds 'fun' for that workout with a very, very rough outline of what I want to "accomplish", but someone people like keeping track of their progress and nothing wrong with that either.

Also it's like people ITT started working out in the last 5 years. Before every cell phone had 1000 fitness apps and easy to type keyboards seeing gym bras with a notebook and pencil in the gym was a pretty regular thing.
