You really can't make fun of anyone if you workout at PF.

I do not need to write this stuff down. If I was just starting I might need to note what exercises were for what bodypart, but after a month I would not.
I have seen people join the gym after New Years and go all out with the "not wasting time" and being organized, then quit likely because it's was "too hard" which is what they made it.
I find that kind of thing hilarious.
One time, a guy asked me how I got so big and I showed him a book I was reading in the gym and told him, "Bring a book!". I used to do my reps, read a couple pages, do more reps, and so on.
I was enjoying myself!
Now, I listen to music and enjoy myself that way.

A notebook is used to track your progress.
It's better than texting, or taking selfies.

If you're not tracking it you're ****ing around srs.
Used to peck out notes on my phone, notepad and pen is better.
It's nowhere near as whack as taking pictures of someone taking their workout seriously and laughing at them.

That's about what all of them look like. And continue to look like mostly. Year after year. I'm not writing notes on that, I just see everything around me. That guy is like halfway through the notebook and still doing assisted "dips" using all the weight stack. I understand he is old and frail and it's good he is at least trying, but he doesn't seem to be advancing.
I think if you want to get below 10% BF or are prone to eating gluttonously, tracking what you eat is needed. Workouts? Just go hard at it every single time.
The worst thing though are homos that take creeper pics of other people.

Dear diary.
Today I was at the gym when I saw some weirdo taking pictures of all the girls. I wonder if thinks hes being stealthy. He also smelled like chit and he nearly rolled his ankle on the pull up bar for the fifth time today. I caught him taking pictures of me and when confronted he assured me that it was just a selfie. I feel uncomfortable, but atleast I have a wife to go home to

I decided to start doing squats to rehab a leg injury. That was suggested by an inmate I worked with.
I started slowly and my technique is to add weight a little at a time, and that has always given me massive gains.
Years ago, I could knock out 70 pullups in nothing flat. Then, I injured my shoulder and stopped doing them. This spring I wanted to see how many I could do.
I did ONE and hurt my shoulder.
I got very angry at that and started doing everything I could do to get my strength for pullups back. Now, I'm doing 90 pullups without much effort and no pain.
There's a famous ancient story about a guy who could lift a bull. That's because he lifted the bull every day since it was a calf.
That's how you lift 1048 pounds, or at least it's how I did.
You don't worry about it.

I would have thought it was a boomer (modern, broader definition) thing, but at my gym there are several young people who take notes with pencil and paper, including some young instasloot type fitness chicks.

They need to have "tough hands" to feel manly.
Meanwhile, my gloves, I wear two pair, are ground up to F@CK, from the weights.
I am lifting heavy for high reps and that would probably end up giving me cancer from the constant cell destruction of my skin. If you have deep calluses and blisters ripping off, the pain will prevent you from lifting as long or as heavy as you can.
Also, having thick ripped up skin on your hands means you can't feel things with your hands. It's moronic to turn your hands into something that's not able to feel.
Guys who don't lift are anti-gloves. There's no way you're going to be lifting for decades without gloves.

It should be a spiral notebook so you can just flip around everything ahead of your page and not have to open the book each and every time you record a set.

I did the whole phone app log thing but you quickly get to the point of not being able to add weight to the bar very often or do another rep.

It's called progressive overload Gordie. Try it, you may end up looking like you lift.

I was given his notebook. My friends took it and he thought I threw it away. he told me the best moments of his life were getting wrecked and lifting. The pages were crunchy with text. Victories. As the cancer progressed, the weight was less. Yet he kept going, in spite of ridicule from others. I told him not to die. I thought I could just order him to keep going. I thought maybe if I just got strict with him it would all work out.
I have my own notebook now. It's a tiny thing, I put it in my fanny pack. Sometimes when I get up from the hack squat, I see his name, pressed in reverse on the back rest because I wear his jersey ... only his jersey. I thought for sure someday I'd find someone else. He wanted me to. My love for him was just a childish thing. But here I am, utterly alone, with y'all 12 year old trannies.
