Lol why the fuk is the rooney rule even a thing.

People should be interviewed/hired based on qualifications, not skin colour.

Get rid of that rule then you know if a team calls you for an interview it's because they genuinely have an interest in you and not because they're trying to meet some stupid "woke" requirement.

If you're going to file a lawsuit, you would think someone would proof read it. I spotted the word black inappropriately capitalized several times. I now see why he wasn't hired.....lack of attention to details.

The suit includes these texts from Bill Belichick, who thought he was texting Brian Daboll.

This exchange was before Flores even interviewed with the Giants.

To be fair, Daboll is a better fit because he's an offensive guy and his team had an explosive offense, defensive head coaches are on the way out in general. I like Flores and think he should have gotten another year, but I do expect both sides to have made up some **** along the way and not sure I believe either side fully.

Merit has no place in the world any longer, just give everyone the superbowl trophy for participating and hire this guy.

but this is the fault of the dum ass rooney rule.
They still need to interview minority coaches even if they already know who they want to hire, nothing to do with racism my g.

Well before the rooney rule qualified black coaches weren't getting interviewed. That was the whole problem and reason for the rule

Getting hired as a coach has little to do with race and more to do with who you know and the connections you have. It’s a boys club, all these coaches have their sons working for them, who will later hire their friends

I would never guess BB texts like this.

Atp he's probably the only person who'd hire Flores too, that man will be blackballed

Yeah it's really dumb, if a team knows the coach they really want already but have to interview a black coach cause of the rules they're just wasting both parties time.

I'm surprised a rule this dumb was implemented before everything went hyper woke

But the rule doesn't change anything, even if a team doesn't want to hire a black coach (and that's a big if for most teams) then they can just do a BS interview to satisfy the rule and then move on.

Getting rid of the rule makes it so that scenario isn't even a question, because you know if you get called for an interview it's because they actually want you, not because the league forced them to because of your skin colour.

Yea the rule sucks , I'm just pointing out that the rule was created because there was a legitimate problem

and good QB's like Warren Moon weren't even looked at so they would either go to Canada or change position because they weren't considered "smart enough" for the role...

Look at the credentials of the white guys that get hired and you can see black candidates with the exact same or better resume that don't get a chance.

And look at how they are treated when they do get a chance. Flores fired after 2 winning seasons with a chit roster. David culley fired after 1 year without DeShaun Watson, and winning the same amount of games they won last year with him.

I wish more people knew what you just typed above, many positions are this way.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!
