lmfao. it wasn't too long ago where most things were open at almost full capacity and some semblance of normalcy (minus the stupid mask mandates). really these people have an irrational fear of taking off their masks and living life as it should be. granted, they've been conditioned to be afraid like dogs.

My town isn't that bad, but I made a trip to a very liberal town last week and people like this were everywhere. Looks like they are in constant fear. Bunch of sheep.

This is the overarching reason any restrictions were erected in the first place. Humans can't deal with uncertainty. It's inherently painful as it directly conflicts with our #1 innate biological, evolutionary drive to survive. I've said this ever since the beginning of the pandemic - all of these mandates, wearing a mask, distancing, etc, are just there to create theillusionthat something is being done. It's a virus, much like any other, and there's only so much we can do about it. Some will die, some will get really sick, some won't. It's all unknown. However, human beings are still tribal black and white, all or nothing thinkers who fear uncertainty and the unknown above all else so telling the populous 'way she goes' basically would send everyone in a panic, even though that kind of situation is probably the one closest to an objective truth.

I think the protest leaders should extend an offer to people in the city with toddlers/babies who can not afford to temporarily relocate and fund their hotel/air-b&b stay elsewhere because they are terrible victims of collateral damage that should not be.

The Department of Homeland Security has warned that a trucker convoy protesting vaccine mandates — similar to the ones that have transfixed Canada in recent days — could start in the US on Super Bowl Sunday.

A bulletin warning of the potential protest was sent out to law enforcement officials on Tuesday, according to Yahoo News, which cited documents and senior law enforcement officials.

The DHS warning reportedly revealed that the department “has received reports of a convoy of truckers planning to potentially block roads in major metropolitan cities in the United States in protest of, among other things, vaccine mandates for truck drivers.”

DHS warned that the convoy is expected to “start in California as early as mid-February and travel to Washington D.C. as late as mid-March, reportedly gathering truckers as they travel across the country.” One source told Yahoo News that the convoy would not likely reach the nation’s capital until late March or early April.

Reducing uncertainty is exactly what it was about. Politicians know this, preyed on fear that they created, and they just were pandering to their constituents. Once they realize it will corrupt their chances for re-election the mandates will end.
