You do realize that there will be very little "sitting on the FOB" vs a near-peer military and no 'nation building' like we wasted time doing from 2001-2021, right?

the only thing that russia has over us are their ROEs, which basically helps them win vice the US, where our ROEs hamstring us. when i was in afghanistan, we couldnt do ****; we needed approval from higher ups to engage and that could take hours. unfortunately, our ROEs are made to win the hearts of the people (and not make us look bad internationally), which is bull **** and comical. want to win hearts? send the peace corps and social workers. want to win wars? then expend all rounds and exert maximum violence

You are assuming it would be a "no holds barred" war with effective leadership and whatnot.

Look at the current brass, these are the people who would be making strategic decisions. Completely incompetent and woke generals.

Plus you would have all the concern over feelings and what not....so no mass nukings or carpet bombings of entire cities. The US military hasn't been tested in a war like this for a long, long time. Technology isn't everything. Look at the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle at how incompetent these people are.
