Humans are either very early or very late to the universe. There were probably thousands of intelligent alien species in our universe millions of years ago, but they’re now extinct or killed themselves trying to do what we do: harness the energy of our sun/solar system/galaxy/etc. Fermi paradox stuff.

Or we’re the first ones to have these bright ideas and we will be long gone before the next smart aliens come along. There’s also the factor of distance. We may be hundreds of light years away from the closest, notable alien species that isn’t some microscopic thing on Mars.

Aliens might be giant evil flesh eating monsters too, so that’s why the universe is so quiet… the others are hiding and silent on purpose.

Aliens probably want nothing to do with this planet. Most normal humans have given up hope on humanity at this point.

MSM when aliens land :

"Why greeting aliens is racist"
"Why intergalactic take over and human extinction is a good thing"

I've always been fascinated by space and the universe and I would really love to know if there is other life out there somewhere.

Imagine if they are way more advanced than us, but are all extreme manlets. Like half an inch tall. They show up here and try to intimidate us with fancy technology but we just step on them.

Anyone that doesn't already know that we have been getting visited for decades at the very least and quite possibly hundreds of years is incredibly ignorant of the facts.

One counterargument that does make sense is any race that can turn up on our doorstep could definitely wipe us out but we won't have any resources that they need to take: they have better tech and get get their own water, gases and metals from asteroid belts and comets. However that doesn't mean that they can't have hostile intentions.Maybe we don't know of any other alien races because one of them is busily wiping out all intelligent life as soon as it arises.
Exactly what we humans would do in that position

Anyone who thinks we humans would allow another planet to achieve intergalaxy travel, turning into a potential threat, to live is crazy

I'm not sure that's necessarily true, for a start different types of species would elicit different types of responses from us. For example, how warlike they appear to be, their stage of technological development and other factors such as their physical appearance. If we come across a race of cavepeople who look like baby Yodas and have a complex intertribal civilisation with not much but non-zero violence, we're very unlikely to just drop a few dinosaur killer asteroids on them. Rather we would study and monitor them.

Also human responses to alien civilisation may not inform our own response. Possibly aliens are so advanced , in a manner they believe that we can never emulate, that they consider its impossible that we threaten them. Or maybe they are utterly indifferent. Or whatever.

There are no absolutes here is what I'm saying.
"A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand."

Just because they can receive and send messages to us doesn’t qualify them for intergalactic travel.

If they could then yeah we’d probably be f*cked. But odds are they couldn’t. And the potential to learn from them could be great.

Risk/reward situation I say it’s worth it to keep trying
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
