if anywhere it would be windsor, havent had much time to follow the chat groups im in that share news from those areas, sounded like this morning the police were there in riot gear, not sure on the status of the bridge

Actually the city hates him. The force loves him because they are all banking massive overtime making $90 an hour standing around for twelve hours.

He's going to get fired for sure, especially considering the action other cities have taken with far less resources that have worked.

They drastically underestimated the convoy at first. Mainstream media was reporting that it was just a few trucks coming to ottawa. Try hundreds lol
I have a family member who is an officer with the ottawa pd and she’s been working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week basically just hanging out and having fun with the protestors making crazy ot money. She said if it came down to forcing them out most officers she’s talked to would stand down.

This is more than just an anti mandates protest. This is good vs evil, this is Canada’s last stand, failure isn’t an option. History in the making once in a generation type of event.

Yeah this seems to be a common thing. And frankly, I would too making that kind of money. Problems will come afterwards though because now the screaming to defund police is even louder and they are also going to be arguing for reform from the top down.

We already have a small force spread across a massive distance so it's hard enough to be police here.

One of the finest pleasures of schadenfreude is the resetera's thread on this subject, as it follows the linear progression of the protest. The first few pages of posts (from a couple weeks back when the protest first started) were all laughing at the truckers and being dismissive. Now all of the posts are full-on panic and anger.

Windsor being cleared, people arrested and a couple of trucks towed.

In Ottawa OPS is currently...handing out parking tickets. And when they got to a truck that didn't have license plates they just said "well, guess we can't ticket it" and moved on.
