What I am saying is that the West has been making things worse for the past years.
We're not meeting the basic security demands of Russia. We're basically pushing them to dare to invade.
If they had wanted to invade they'd have done it already, it's clearly a negotiation tactic that is failing.
It's going to be a tragedy for everyone involved if it happens.

They prepared to invade and made a list of demands that are nonstarters. Why does Russia have to threaten to invade another country to engage in international diplomacy?

I know it was cheaper to operate in syria than to do training operations in russia, maybe this too is just a cost-saving way to get combat experience and show the west they have claws and wont listen

Since April 2021, Putin has moved his troops and given ultimatums on Russian security guarantees, but there has been a diplomatic impasse with no side bulging.
As such we may be in a situation where we are sleepwalking into an inevitable conflict due to a diplomatic impasse.
It's possible that at the last minute, concessions are made. Let us hope so.
But so far it's looking like Mr Putin will potentially invade.

It's not important whether they want to be part of NATO. They have all kinds of reasons to join.
It's not the purpose of NATO to allow in every interested State.
This could actually endanger NATO.

Same with the EU.
