I generally support peaceful protesting. And it goes both ways, people negatively affected can feel free to peacefully counter-protest

Anyone calling for a civil war can get fukked. There are some whackjobs coming out of the woodwork, as is expected when you have events like this presenting unique opportunities to be whackjobs, but I'm assuming they're a smaller fringe element

Go read mainstream, left wing social media posts and look at the comments. At the beginning of the pandemic they were all pro lockdowns, vaxx etc. Now look at the posts about Trudeau the truckers, ending lockdowns etc and the overwhelming majority of the thousands of comments are calling for Trudeau to resign, supporting the removal of the mandates, and are in support of the truckers.

Talk to people irl. I don’t know a single family member, friend or work colleague who isn’t in support of the truckers and ending the mandates, I also don’t hangout w alt right types either. I understand that this is anecdotal to an extent but I’m sure it holds more weight than the polling done by mainstream media that the Trudeau government paid 600 million over the past 2 years to.

Just a sample but there are thousands and thousands more where this came from - the transition in opinion is beautiful to see

Also anecdotally I know of a few people who dont support the protest. I also happen to know a lot more who do. Dont look at the convoy size, look at how many people flooded the overpasses, are cooking food, etc. And these are only the motivated individuals. How many more support it, but not enough to act?

I'm of the position that one be against mandates and mob rule, simultaneously.

All the restrictions were already set to be lifted. Those dates were published before the convoy rolled out.

Do people still really think this was about vaccine mandates?

I have no problem with protests.

I do have a problem with mandates.


Tricky precedent if we start changing government when a group doesn't like the outcome of an election and installs one they prefer.

Funny how upset people get when called to support their positions.

I just figured most people get challenged in real life. It seems I was way off.

I'd find it boring if friends and colleagues just accepted whatever I say as truth.
