Unfortunately, I think Ford set conservative timelines hoping to move them up for favour. Then the convoy did their thing and gets to take credit. He should have just published his intended timeline from the start.

This is exactly it. We are the same as third world banana republics. Except our politicians cover it with nice words such as diversity, inclusion etc so it 'feels' like we're not completely at the mercy of autocrats.

I'm not going to go back through the whole thread, but I predicted about three weeks ago when this whole thing started that mandates were going to end by end of March at the latest. And got called an idiot and a dreamer. It was completely predictable based on what was going on worldwide and the fact Omicron was peaking already.
