A constitutional monarchy is a great system. There is the awe of having a queen, not just of england but of the commonwealth which represents Great Britain.

Then there is the fact that the prime minister has to drive up to the palace every week to talk to the queen about his plans, more ceremonious than anything but it keeps him in check.
