I have a pistol with a 4.5” barrel but I want a 3 inch for concealed carry. I’m willing to spend up to $600

P365 is the best CC gun right now. XL if you prefer it.

Why? In a smaller handgun it's going to make it much less controllable, less rounds, and have an extremely minimal benefit damage wise.

You reach a point of diminishing gains if you want a truly compact pistol stronger than 9mm. Modern 9mm ammo is good stuff. A Glock 27 is an option though.

Stronger? Have you seen the ballistic gel tests of the top rounds?

You might get some extra performance out of a .357 Sig, but the differences from a smaller carry firearm aren’t big enough to neglect one with good “ergonomics”.

Real world beats paper. A gun that’s too big and heavy ends up staying at home more than it stays on your person. Get something that you will actually carry ED.

Bc you want a 3inch barrel. You get absolutely zero performance upgrade going to any different round in a barrel that short.

You’re not getting a round stronger than a 9 at that length and a .380 is basically a short 9mm

.40SW and .45ACP aren't more powerful than 9mm in the barrel length you're talking about and the recoil won't be nearly as manageable.

9mm performs substantially better against soft armor than either of those as well so there is that to take into consideration.

.40 is a round without a purpose imo. Have you held it ? Glocks ergonomics sucks, even tho I’ve got a couple.

Are you saying a 9mm is more powerful at the same barrel length? Not true

If you want a .40 just to have a .40, why would you get that for your CC gun? And .40 Glocks are known to be unreliable since it's just a modded 9mm system. Add on the fact that with a smaller platform you'd be minimizing any theoretical advantage of the .40, while exaggerating the disadvantages. It's stupid.

I didn't say it was, but they are almost about even. And again, substantially less recoil. With a good self defense like CD +P you are beyond the majority of .40 and .45 in muzzle energy and the velocity will absolutely shred most Level II and IIIA armor.

Not true. 9mm is superior

.380 is the best sub compact round people just don’t want to admit it.

Hell you might be better of with some .38 +p in a revolver
