What happened to Cameras??

IN SHORT: Never use 2013+ cameras, they don't look serious and looks worse than sucky 2005 disposable cameras.

This is harder to notice than style or behaviour, but to me it's painfully obvious hence why I use a Motorola krzr for my pictures most of the time. Like, pictures just used to have an act of seriousness, not like the current flamboyant nonsense.

When I was a bunch younger, our photos were taken on disposable cameras, flip phones, webcams or stills from a camcorder. Quality wise, it's obvious that photos from pre 2006/2011 won't look better than 2020 pictures. Except pre 2006/2011 pictures look signifantly better than the current pictures.

Take a typical camera from 2007, (like the subtle distortion (noisy image), small sensor etc.) It just looked amazing, far better than this peachy pristine camera quality capturing insects on the ground or some gross makeup. It just looks gay/fanny like to me.

Like, when I think of old pictures I think of the MTV awards night out type thing, but obviously they used the most expensive cameras on this planet. Think of just a regular guy back in 2007 taking goofy pictures with the flash and stuff, it just looks amazing.

Modern pictures of stuff just look unbelievabley gay. You can compare old TV shows, webcam footage, music videos, friends pictures etc to the 2020 versions.

See for yourself, just type in "Jackass before:2010-01-01" or "Jersey douchebags before:2010-01-01" exactly as written between the speech marks. The camera pictures just look amazing.

But yeah, old pictures looked insane. Ton better than the current trash.

Look at these pictures for examples. I refuse to post modern pictures, it's embarrassing, even if it's of a strongman or whatever, it just looks silly to me.

Small sensor , less light , pixel count wars , more noise correction.
I have a Fuji XT1 and I have to say the jpegs are as good as I’ve seen . It does get beat out in RAw though

Honestly man, you're going way overboard. Those cameras exceed most smartphones.

Think of those old digimax cameras. Started in 2005 and last a lifetime.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/rElU3GX.jpg[/ig]
Wow, that's far longer ago than my designated years lol.

See, that picture looks fine. Compare that to the 2020s 1800s reenactments, (like the TV shows). The 2020s version of it just looks pathetic and gay. Something just looks completely off and I put it down to the pristine cameras, (and the feminine actors which is a different story altogether).

OP, what are you talking about? those examples you posted are low-bitrate video screenshots from youtube. you're trying to compare those to what? still photos shot from a film camera?

This.

I don't know sht about cameras or photography but OPs pics are screen grabs from 2000's internet videos. Not sure what you're trying to show with those. they look terrible anyways.

Yeah, the second one is a picture. I'm not uploading my own ones since I'm in them lol. There's a ton of examples out there anyways.

I'll find some examples later, I thought people would know what I meant from the text.

The 2nd one is a picture.

Either way they looks serious and epic, I'm not getting pictures of a scenery or something since obviously the newer cameras would look far better.

Yeah I was going to say, it feels like quality hasn't really improved much in a long time now. Only things like video capturing have improved.

Here a pic from last summer .I was working up in a bucket truck and thought the view was pretty decent. This was taken with an iPhone 10 XS .
People don’t realize that they have small sensors and can take fairly good pictures, but it depends on light . In low light conditions they don’t excel at all and add a lot of noise to the pic .
It’s tough to critique a pic on the forum also , seeing as this was originally a 6 megapixel pic being compressed to f all
this.

the second photo is from narcissus's vid uploaded on youtube, and that was filmed in like 2011

uVIHgTmA0Nk[/youtbe]
Haha it wasn't in that video but it is the same guy lol. Not the point but lol.

Exactly, it was from 2011, just the population using whatever they had at the time to record and take pictures with, in this case 2011 had awesome stuff.

I added some pictures for more examples.

I don't know, I know that just by comparing a typical picture from 2006 to a picture in 2022, I'd just much prefer the 2006 one. The 2022 just looks too clear and feminine, I can't really think about how to put it into words. But yeah.

But yeah, you're 100% spot on. Those examples are exactly what I'm talking about. It's not about what the picture is taken of per say, but it's how the camera processes such an amazing image that actually looks good/serious. I don't care if the quality is garbage, it just looks really good.

Just go on popular ******** pages or just look at modern pictures, they just look ridiculously gay and terrible.

[img]https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9390363&d=1645828151[/ig]
Yeah, going off topic but I get what u mean. People often misunderstand cameras full stop. E.g, your image probably looked good on your phone, but when blown up on a huge monitor, it looks okay ish.

I'm not sure, compression used to destroy pictures, I don't think it does much these days?

Bump, I noticed this years ago (in 2016?), but I didn't know how to word it properly. 2022 images/footage has really confirmed my thoughts.
