Not tinnitus but not being able to switch off

Having white noise/fan helps big time

Tinnitus is completely normal. You might just be having anxiety before bed because you keep thinking about Tinnitus.

Also not being able to sleep is 100% normal.

TV/Radio. I heard taurine injections help, I got a few taurine shots and didn't notice a huge difference but... Yeah can't imagine it hurts.

White noise is your only option tbh. Beach waves etc.

You can also try this.

No clue if the comments are BS but some people say it helped them.

Ear wax can cause intense ringing in your ears. If you don't have ear wax build up then ignore but if you do then try using a solution to break down ear wax (e.g. waxsol).

Listening to loud ass music all those years, not super smart..

make sure you wake up once at 4 am regardless of what time you sleep and stay up till 10.30 or 11 pm

stop all sorta of alcohol and weed incase you do any ... include 30 to 45 mins daily walks... i promise youll be sleeping like a baby..... you wont be sleeping 8 hours... but you ll get a good 5 to 6 hours which is more than enough for your body and cognitive skills to operate normally

My tinnitus was so bad a couple weeks ago. The ringing was deafening and driving me crazy especially at night. Had my ears flushed had barely any earwax at all. I listen to scary stories at night on YouTube to fall asleep. Ive kinda just gotten used to it pretty quick and it only bothers me if I really try to listen to it and think about it. Your brain will adjust to the sound and make it background noise after a week or two. Just give it time it gets better and stops being so bothersome. Like the other guy said stressing about it and getting anxiety over it makes it worse. Sounds silly but just do your best to ignore it and it will stop bothering you so much to the pint you stop thinking about it and noticing it.

Brah I don't smoke and quit alcohol for New Years. I can literally workout for hours, and still won't be able to sleep. I'll just be awake, tired and groggy all day. Literally started from the military. A lot of veterans have sleep issues. I've actually considered weed to self medicate. (Ded fkn Srs)

Same with me, but when I use the white noise I have nightmares (srs). Whatever I choose turns into something different. Like light rain droplets turn into a hot pan searing oil. It's awful.

Yep. Had it since it got real bad when I was 20. Pretty sure it was a rare, but permanent side effective of a pretty nasty medication I took temporarily at the time. Even the doctor who prescibed it admitted there was a good chance I just got the chit stick on that deal.

First thing is, you need to come to terms with the fact that you will always deal with it on some level (assuming you've had fairly constant issues for months or more). Don't get your hopes up for any new age remedies claiming to have a cure for it, because they're all bs. But also don't get too depressed (I was seriously wanting to rope months into when I first had it), because you learn to live with it over time.

As for things you can do. First off, take care of yourself. Eating healthy in general helps. Eating like chit all the time tends to make it worse. Exercise tends to be good too. I.e., general healthy habits. Avoid chit like excessive booze conception because it makes it worse (temporarily in my case). Anything that raises your blood pressure beyond healthy levels is going to make it worse.

As for sleep. Create white noise. Can be soft music that helps you drift off. I run a fan, sometimes 2 for the white noise they make when I sleep. Which is a very common practice in general. When you have tinnitus bad, you learn to focus more on more pleasants sounds like a fan/rainfall/etc. than the ringing. Use it to your advantage both when sleeping and awake.

Yes I've had it for about 10 years now. Bad in both ears. Honestly just get used to it after a while.
