Crazy how the prices Mentioned in this thread are half the price of regular gas prices in Norway.

To make it Worse 90% of our export is OIL!!

We are a rich oil nation with the most expensive gas on the planet due to enviroment & socialist Politics

Do you refine any of it?

Producing crude oil is one step of the process, refining into fuels is the bigger part in this context. We have a somewhat similar situation here in Alberta but not quite as bad — we produce tons of oil but don’t refine that much of it, but we have a land connection with the US refineries

So when a President negotiates with OPEC and they announce gas price reduction or a hike, or when a President tells Putin not to attack Ukraine or he will attack Moscow, those things have no impact on gas prices? Or when a President authorizes domestic drilling? Or shuts down domestic drilling? Those things have no impact on gas prices?

It’s just a pure coincidence that under one President gas is $2 and under another one it’s $4?
Policies and decisions of the Executive branch of the biggest economy in the world have no impact on gas prices?

One, the sanctions haven’t even taken effect. Two gas prices have been going up all over the world since 2020.

Amazon and Netflix also increased their prices, does that mean Biden did that too?

I’m not an expert on the refining side but think it likely comes down to

-Refineries are built to process specific oil blends with specific chemistries/properties, and there are many different types of oil blends
-Domestic producers can likely export their oil for higher prices and buy foreign oil for lower prices

Oil production and refining is far more complex and nuanced than most appreciate

Bro we refine like 10 times our yearly consumption every year. Or more.

We just have extremely high taxes on petroleum . Guaranteed highest of every country on earth.

Petroleum cars will be outlawed within 3 years. Due to enviroment . Yet we export for billions every year. Guess enviroment only matters when you Can tax your own people. Scam to make government rich

This is funny as hell.

Do you charge the other countries that you sell to the same high prices that you charge inside the country? Oh, well probably not. Because they wouldn't buy for you if you are the highest priced supplier.

So when the petro is burned in another country it doesn't hurt the climate, only when it is burned in your country?

I own two vehicles, both are pickup trucks.

1979 K10 with a carbureted 383 engine (premium fuel required due to timing and compression) 7-8mpg, since moving to a much higher elevation, I still need to fine tune the carb. I've been looking into fuel injection swaps, but I might actually just swap over to a stock LS engine due to it being cheaper and I can just use regular instead of premium.

1984 C20 with a 6.5 turbo diesel swap (retained stock mechanical fuel system from the stock 6.2) . I've been primary using this, it's great on fuel for an old style fuel system, I get about 13mpg (mostly city driving and longer warm ups due to our harsh temps). When it gets warmer out, I'll probably get closer to 20mpg.

Yeah the higher fuel prices suck, but I like driving old junk that boogies, so I'm used to the fun tax lol.

Edit- filled up on premium for the gasser earlier this week at about $3.90gal, I think diesel was about the same.
