Ever notice how most people just repeat themselves all time? Gets old af, srs.

Every time I go to work, people rehash the same stories they've been telling for years, sometimes decades old stories of theirs. Most of the time, I don't talk to them at all except for exchanging basic pleasantries and the ocassional bs'ing around.

Still, I can't help but notice how often I hear them discussing the same stupid chit over and over again. I swear, I've heard people re-tell their same camping/fishing/their kids etc. stories uwards of 30+ times over the years, with no end in sight. Not even partcularly interesting stories, either. Just stupid chit that was barely worth listening to even once.

yeah I do the same cause I barely have anything to talk about. It's really weird when you actually observe how robotic people are. I'm not even sure souls/freewill are real. Feel like we are all characters in a movie just going on autopilot. It's cringe.

Almost as bad as my neighbor who threw a hissy fit because he wanted to paint my house. His kid streaked it a bit and he wanted to fix it. I appreciated the offer but i just don’t care enough.

To this day, he’s always looking out his window staring at it. I might make it bigger with the same paint to mess with him.

To be honest, it's kind of flattering to know that some random miscer still remembers my troll thread from a week ago or so well enough to stil bring it up as a means of trolling themselves lol. You're alright, mane.

Most people have chit memory so they probably don't even realize they're doing it.

Unless they're telling stories in real time or with a prepared exposition, they're self-harming at your expense. No one wants to watch them nod off to nostalgia.

when telling a story to someone i talk to often enough i say “did i tell you about XYZ”

and if they say no then i’ll repeat the story. i try to give them an out just in case i am repeating myself because i fukkin hate rehearing the same chit over and over

cutting someone off about their repeated story can be sort of rude sometimes so just depends on situation but if my girl is repeating the same chit for the 3rd time i’ll cut her off real quick

Yeah it feels like autopilot everyone just repeating the same few talking points/catch phrases/words

Even the misc is like this now every thread is about the Ukraine or WW3 before that it was COVID and race bait for years straight

My gf and her mother like to have the same conversation about one thing multiple times, gets on my nerves. They will rehash someting over and over again and I just tell them "we've been through this" and refuse to engage

Years ago i worked with a bunch of different people and nobody was like this. The convos were interesting, random or fun. We'd constantly have debates and locker room talk. Can't even remember the last time i saw any of this.

I think suffering creates good stories (think of our grandfathers/great-grandfathers) in WWII.
