I've seen all sorts of photos of Ukrainian women taking up arms for their country, and I hope if I were ever in such a situation I'd defend my country, too.

My understanding is that has everything to do with not creating a bajillion orphans and displaced children. Personally zero fuks given which parent goes and which stays behind though I'd certainly prefer it to be the woman - JFC at letting a bunch of horny single traveling men around traumatized children - but I fail to see what courage has to do with this.

Absolutely. Which is why feminism that always falls back on the equality argument gets it wrong. There is no context for these feminists. No historical relevance for why gender anomalies exist, or at least no legitimate/non-patriarch driven relevance.

Are there gender based inequalities that have existed and still exist that need to be addressed, of course. But there are also the same that exist for many good reasons.
