And, to be clear, at this point there has been one study that found a modification of DNA in human liver cells that was done in vitro [in the lab, not in a living person].

This tells us that it is *possible*, not that it is certain. It would take more study to determine if there are genetic changes taking place in the liver tissue of people that have had the injections.

An obvious seeming place to start IMO would be to check tissue from liver biopsies.

ETA: in this video it is theorized that it might cause the immune system to attack liver cells that are expressing the spike protein.

Hard to say. Fortunately, these vaccines don't modify DNA in recipients. The virus however, does modify DNA repair mechanisms.

A simple evolutionary defense mechanism which evolved to ensure we don't die from everyday bacterial and viral infections. And even if it could enter the nucleus, the vaccine still lacks two enzymes which are required to properly integrate into the DNA. Reverse transcriptase is needed to turn it into DNA (which is the enzyme the virus uses to replicate itself, not us), and it needs integrase to be inserted properly into the genome.

Without all of the above, there can't be any gene therapy or gene integration. Once it is used by the cell to produce the requisite antigen for immune identification, it's consumed very quickly.

EDIT: I just tried to make a lengthy post in the R/P which was well sourced and argued but I hit that lame Access-Denied page. Which was effing stupid and frustrating since I spent so much time on that post. WTF?

Basically, I further the above argument by showing that the vaccine is specifically altered so the spike protein can't get into the cell, let alone the cell nucleus, and get up to shenanigans. This actually reinforces the vaccination stance tenfold, since the paper I was dealing with showed the spike protein interfered with DNA repair and metabolism should it localize subcellularly, but this can only happen with natural infection because the vaccine was altered to prevent this happening.
yes they do. You have been proven wrong on this many times over..just like everything else..

Intracellular Reverse Transcription of Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 In Vitro in Human Liver Cell Line

Immunohistochemistry using antibody binding to LINE-1 open reading frame-1 RNA-binding protein (ORFp1) on Huh7 cells treated with BNT162b2 indicated increased nucleus distribution of LINE-1. PCR on genomic DNA of Huh7 cells exposed to BNT162b2 amplified the DNA sequence unique to BNT162b2. Our results indicate a fast up-take of BNT162b2 into human liver cell line Huh7, leading to changes in LINE-1 expression and distribution. We also show that BNT162b2 mRNA is reverse transcribed intracellularly into DNA in as fast as 6 h upon BNT162b2 exposure.

That's why I pointed out the important part of that paper - the cell line.

The investigators essentially forced it, then reported it happened.
I also stated it doesn't occur in recipients (in vivo).

Actually no.There was a biodistribution study in Japan as well showing longer term timelines for spike proteins/LNP being found in various cell sites in the body up to 60 days post shot. Bottom line is there is evidence to support that: the shots linger longer in the body than they said, there is evidence that they enter the cell nucleus and can impair function... it enters and remains in there which has potential downstream to allow your body to produce more spike proteins of a specific cell type leading to auto immune issues. It's still being researched, but between all the adverse effects and information like this/the Pfizer documents coming out from their trials it's becoming more and more evident that long term studies were needed for these shots and that they never should have been released to the public at all.

apparently you didn't read it all..

"Huh7 cells were exposed to BNT162b2, and quantitative PCR was performed on RNA extracted from the cells. We detected high levels of BNT162b2 in Huh7 cells and changes in gene expression of long interspersed nuclear element-1 (LINE-1), which is an endogenous reverse transcriptase

Yep.

Those in vitro Huh7 cells are what I posted about - a cultured cell line.

The Japan study has been addressed previously and had nothing to do with DNA modification.

lol..keep telling yourself that..

Concern has been raised regarding the dissemination of the spike protein throughout the body after vaccination. Rather than staying localized at the injection site in order to provoke the immune response and nothing more, spike protein presence has been detected throughout the body of some vaccinated individuals. Furthermore, it appears that some of the circulating spike proteins simply bind the ACE2 receptors without entering the cell, inducing an autoimmune response to the entire cell-spike protein entity. Depending on the cell type that binds the spike protein, any of a number of autoimmune medical conditions can result. More alarmingly, Dr. Levy explains that current evidence shows the spike protein continues to produced in the body, following the initial mRNA injection. He explains: While the underlying pathology remains to be completely defined, one explanation for the problems with thrombotic tendencies and other symptomatology seen with chronic COVID and post-vaccination patients relates directly to the persistent presence of the spike protein part of the coronavirus. Some reports assert that the spike protein can continue to be produced after the initial binding to the ACE2 receptors and entry into some of the cells that it initially targets. The clinical pictures of chronic COVID and post-vaccine toxicity appear very similar, and both are likely due to this continued presence, and body-wide dissemination, of the spike protein (Mendelson et al., 2020; Aucott and Rebman, 2021; Levy, 2021; Raveendran, 2021)

Thanks. But that's also unrelated to the suggestion that covid vaccines modify a recipient's DNA.

Literally the point I made earlier itt regarding this thread. No point "discussing" anything when both posters can't agree on basic facts. In this case, the basic facts that the mrna vaccines are not "gene therapy" nor do they change DNA.

I love how people eat up this concept that the human body is like a computer and medicines are programs that are coded for a singular function. If this were reality then there would be no "side-effects" to medicines. The reality is pharmaceutical companies and medical experts loosely understand the human body and chemicals, and can guesstimate how a new chemical or drug might impact the body. They never have the full scope of effects or truly the mechanisms by which those medicines work, only general ideas.

Case in point: clicking that link one of the first things you read is "vaccine ingredients are the same ones found in many foods we eat". This is my favorite one-- because it shows truly how stupid the medical industry can be. "Brb your child only gets a cumulative 5mg of aluminum over their entire vaccine schedule, but the average adult eats 50mg
of aluminum per day!". Ok, I also might eat a 500g cheeseburger per day, does that mean I can open up my vein and stick a small piece of that cheeseburger inside and it'll be fine? Absolutely fukking dense.

The only thing I'm trying to find and "monger" is the truth. Not my fault if it scares you.

I guess they didn't edit that page yet.

Checkmate.
Then you and patty derailed it from here and are arguing points that have nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

By all definitions, the mRNA vaccines are gene therapy.

Correct.

The thread was about the use of the term gene therapy which in the past did not mean "a therapy that alters human genes".

This may or may not alter human genes.

I see, it's not so much that you take issue with the content of a post, but rather the poster.

Possibly because the term connotes the subject of the paper you posted for many people.

No he posted something that was irrelevant to the thread and no one continued that…you continued to pursue an irrelevant topic and then argued that the irrelevant tangent was proof that the OP was incorrect.

So I take issue with your dishonesty for the purpose of derailing the thread.
