They are also behind the Climate Change larp and they can manipulate the weather with technology developed decades ago.

I believe that OP is referring to international or national events, not personal family tragedies. So bearing that in mind;

Covid pandemic, in particular the lockdown and being alone 24/7 (no gym, no clubs, could not see family)
War in Iraq 2003, as my Dad went over for a few weeks and there was always that worry that he wouldn't come back in one piece. He came back safe and well, but a soldier in his unit was KIA'd.
The 7/7 bombings in London, I was raging and it was one of the events that pulled me into a far-right wing way of thinking.

Forgot 7/7-although after 9/11 it didn't resonate as much with me, you were pretty much used to suicide bombings/attacks four years later & just expected it-it was clear it was just a matter of time until it hit the UK after we went along with the invasion. Honestly it was really the vision of the planes hitting the towers that resonated so visually. I was born in 1976 so had grown up with seeing IRA bombings for 20 plus years, plane hijackings by Middle Eastern guys, the US Beirut Embassy attack etc-but that visual was on another level.

Probably when my stable marriage ended. Forced me to pick up my ass and figure out what the hell I was going to do rather than coasting through mundane suburban life. Financially it hit me hard, emotionally it was messed up and mentally I had a very hard time. Now of course it's all good but it was definitely a life changing moment.

In terms of world events, Kurt Cobain's death hit me hard because I'd recently watched the MTV Unplugged show and at the end when he's screaming you can hear the pain in his voice. And I was feeling quite suicidal at the time so I could relate to what he did.

The other one I can remember is watching the 2020 US election and when they declared Trump won Florida I turned to my friends and said "that's going to change the entire US for a long time". And it did, you can argue for better or worse. It's even affected Canada's political landscape because we follow them.
