Good luck! Sounds like all signs point to normal other than 1 that’s questionable anyway. I’m sure you are good.

My wife is due in a couple weeks with our first, (ya I know, I’m old, but she isn’t) but we did the MIPS test as soon as we found out, helps rule all of that out, sounds like that’s what they are doing now.

My wife is dealing with the same, we had an amniocentesis to rule out any genetic disorder, but her fluid has been low and baby has IUGR, she’s less than 5 percent on weight and head circumference, we’re seeing MFM every week with high resolution ultrasounds. We are praying hard but so far other than IUGR, things appear to be normal. They tell my wife to not to be stressed as it’s bad for the baby, but she gets more stressed with all of this. We may just stop all the testing and just let it be, not much you can do other than just monitor the baby, can’t change what’ll happen. I just want my daughter to be healthy. Keeping you and your wife in my prayers.

Good luck, prayers, and positive vibes to you guys with babies on the way (Berts, Sam, and Matty).

For Matty, with one of our kids we had a measurement of some sort come back that could indicated a slightly increased risk of downs - everything else was normal. We didn't bother with additional testing because it wouldn't have changed what we did. Baby was completely healthy. My wife was the worrier between us. With respect to "what if" things we couldn't do anything about anyway, I always tell my wife there's no point in worrying about it now. Let's wait until we know we have a problem there will be plenty of time to worry then. I think that line has been somewhat successful, and you're welcome to it if you think it will help.

Hope everything works out for you Sam, I've been your shoes, stressing over a pregnancy and it's just the worst. The advancements they've made in medicine make it so we find more things to stress over, but they can usually handle it.

Glad everything is going well for you Berts.

They did the same thing to us on our last kid and we had to sweat like 5 months thinking our kid was going to have down syndrome. They said it was a white spot on his bone in the ultrasound. Made us have all of these expensive tests and our son was 100% normal.

I swear they do this chit on purpose as our first 2 daughters they did same chit as well. First daughter they said she might have a heart condition so we once again had special test done and she's 100% normal and my 2nd daughter I forget what they scared us with but they did.

They are fuking *******s and just wanting to ring up that bill

We did a pregnancy class (I don't know what to call it) at the local hospital. They went through a lot of the basic things to expect during pregnancy what and with a newborn. Fitting car seats, bathing a baby, holding a baby, labor and delivery. I think it was worthwhile. "What to Expect When Your Expecting" is a good reference book during pregnancy. Geared more towards woman and nuts and bolts kind of stuff.

As far as raising and teaching kids, I just wing it.

Prayers for both of you. One thing to remember, is everything has to be worst case scenario with babies, because the alternative of something slipping through is the worst thing that could ever happen.

With my first, she started having one obscure symptom that 95% of kids with CF get. Neither of us had any family history of CF. Statistically, it would have been impossible, but the doctors went straight to it and immediately treated her like she had it. She was cleared once she was tested, but it was the worst 11 days of my life

You just do it man. It comes super natural. Honestly it didn't even hit me that it was real until we were on the way to the hospital with our first. It all starts to just come as 2nd nature the more you do it.

I just found thread. My wife and I have been using gestational surrogates for children. I just had a miscarriage stillbirth on Tuesday at 17 weeks, not the first time it's happened. We're going through the plan of next steps now to grow our family.

We have a 20 month old son. I'm doing my best to teach him how to share and not take other kids' toys. We also got him hooked on cocomelon over the holidays and are trying to ween him off TV now.

Our discipline style is patience. If he throws something we will ask him to go pick it up and hand it to us even if it takes 20 minutes.

Congrats mang.

For those of you with multiple kiddos how did you know you were ready for another one? Perhaps I am just immature, but there are days when I wish I still had more "me time" to go pursue my hobbies. My girl is has been ready for awhile, but I feel like I am about to be stuck in a lifestyle I'm not ready for where my entire life revolves around taking my kids to do their stuff and all my personal passions/hobbies shrivel up and die. Like should I just sell my toys (bikes, jetski, boat) and cancel on getting yearly ski pass and accept I am now a home body? Hopefully y'all can talk me down, but this is mad depressing to consider that "my" life is over....

Timing is a hard one to plan man, but when it feels right, I think you will know it (sorry for the cliche).

As for your life being over - young ones do take ALOT of time, we all know - but it's temporary. As mine grow, I can share more and more of myself with them and get to do all those things I loved as a kid all over again. Riding bikes, sailing, camping, even playing video games I used to play with them.

And they grow up so fast, sometimes I wish for those little manlets who would wrastle my leg everytime I got home, and not let go.

17 month old weighs 18lbs. Gained 1lb in 6 months. Idk why he won’t gain weight. Mental development is fine but physically in the 1st percentile. 2 month old is on track at 10lbs 12oz.

I’m 5’6 wife 5’2 so maybe he’s taking after her.
