How much a TikToker with 1.6 million followers earned last year from brands

How much a TikToker with 1.6 million followers earned last year from brands — including over $100K in a month
Deanna Giulietti started posting on TikTok to escape the tough reality of the COVID-19 lockdown.
During the first wave of the pandemic in March 2020, Giulietti, who was 27 at the time, lost her job as a performer on a cruise ship. She was forced to move back in with her parents and work for her father's construction company.
"Everyone was doing dances on TikTok, and I thought, 'I can dance too, put me on TikTok,'" Giulietti told Insider.
Giulietti never approached content creation as a business. It was only when her current manager reached out to her in November 2020 that she realized how much money she could be making from social media.
"I knew nothing of this world," she said. "I didn't even know content creators had managers. I was just shooting in the dark."
At the time, she had about 250,000 TikTok followers, and in her first month attempting to score deals, she only got a couple contracts, she said.
Then, in January 2021, her profile exploded: She reached 1 million followers and began signing with several brands.
Since then, she's grown her presence on social media into a fully fledged business that she thinks of as "a TV show with a few commercial breaks here and there," she said.
These "commercial breaks" helped her secure a six-figure income in 2021.
She signs an average of 10 to 15 sponsored deals a month, depending on the time of the year, and last year she made $535,000 from brand deals alone, including $126,000 in November thanks to the holiday push. Insider verified this information with documentation she provided.
At first, most of the opportunities were on TikTok, where she now has 1.6 million followers. But once she linked her Instagram profile to her TikTok and began posting Reels, her following grew there, too. She now has 320,000 Instagram followers and posts sponsored content weekly on TikTok and Instagram.
Having a manager to help her secure brand deals was key in this process, Giulietti said.
Brand deals can be very lucrative for creators, but there are drawbacks
While a significant number of influencers rely on brand deals, there are a few downsides, including the lack of consistency from month to month.
While her income during October and November hit $98,000 and $126,000, respectively, she earned $23,200 in April and just over $15,000 in July.
Plus, the pay from brands can be delayed for months. Of the $535,000 that she signed for in 2021, only half had been paid out at the end of the calendar year.
Giulietti has several other income streams. She makes money from the Instagram Reels bonus program, which allows select creators to earn money from their views on Instagram Reels, and from the TikTok Creator Fund.
She also earns through affiliate links and from ads on her YouTube channel, which she launched in November 2020.
But those are not nearly as profitable, and Giulietti is happy to be partnering with some of her favorite brands.
"I get asked a lot from what are my dream brands to work with," she said. "And for me, it just never was something I even thought was possible. So, I often think it's amazing, DSW wants to work with me, or Steve Madden. They all seem like dream brands to me."

i cant help but think when they're like 50 or older and reflecting back on their life, they're gonna realize they did jack chit. even with the money

Every era there are opportunities that are almost unfair and unearned but if you can spot them early you can get rich. Because that's how people get rich. Some people go to the gas station and waste a dollar on a lottery ticket. Some just waste their time and win another lottery. Should have dumped a grand into Dogecoin for New Years 2021 and then cashed out that fall, I wouldn't be working where I do now.

This is one of the byproducts of an excessively consumerist culture. Corporations have too much power and influence over society and in their efforts to increase profits in an increasingly degenerate world, a lot of scumfuk people get paid more than people who do anything more noteworthy

Just checked her socials and she doesn't seem to do anything slooty at all, just a regular typical family mom? by the looks who i can't even see obvious promotions so probably getting paid for wearing certain makeup or so.
Good for her. End of the day she's obviously worked hard for it and didn't take the easy skimpy route.
What people don't realize is attention is $$$ there's a reason top sports stars or top influencers gets paid 10-100k/post is because it brings attention.
It's hard to advertise some new makeup brand when no ones heard of it before, theres also marketing to keep something relevant like coca-cola.

1.6m tiktok followers and yet shes only managed to get 16k to sub to her youtube, and her last youtube vid has less than 1k views. Brings into question how much "influence" she has, when she cant influence people to view her own youtube channel.

We live in an age where the worship of mediocrity, narcissism, and degeneracy has gotten so overwhelming, it stifles out actual talent and raw, sincere artistry.
And the mediocre people love to elate other mediocre / talentless people. The mainstream TikTok (I'm sure there's SOME good content on there) is a great example of people lowering the bar so much that now lip-syncing isn't something shameful, it's an entire genre of "entertainment." Remember Ashlee Simpsons or Milli Vanilli? They basically lost their careers (and one, their life) when caught lip-syncing.

Geez, some sloot teacher I was banging last year has 75k followers. She took that chit way too serious. Part of the reason I dumped her. Little did I know it could be monetized that easy.
