Fair point, But the last paragraph sounds problematic for Russia

If Kyiv can hold out through that pause, then potentially it could hold out for longer than that, because it can be resupplied while the Russians are being resupplied during their pause. Moreover, the largest and most important consideration is that Russia cannot successfully occupy Ukraine. They do not have the scale of forces. They do not have the number of administrators they’d need or the coöperation of the population. They don’t even have a Quisling yet.

I'm sure it will be as much of a smash hit with the general populace as the U.S. occupation of Iraq...

Yeah but do they need to take Kyiv? Do they need to occupy all of Ukraine? Russia might be fine just taking over all of eastern with the Dnipro river being the border and then claiming the entire southern border of Ukraine to hold the black sea and connect them to Moldova and potentially leave Ukraine to be 1/3 of the size it used to be. They already have Russian sympathizers and loyalists in the east and around Moldova, so it might not be that hard for them to claim and keep 2/3 of Ukraine and just push the western loyalist Ukrainians to the remaining 1/3.

Then America should cancel the 15 billion in aid they decided to send while Americans are experiencing record levels of inflation.

They obviously don’t need it.

True, but former Ukrainians are going to have to ask themselves if they would have lost fewer friends / family members if they had just surrendered from the beginning. That is why I am against the US send money/weapons, it is likely just prolong the inevitable and lead to more deaths on both sides.

Without the US weapons, it would have just gone to guerilla warfare ( where it will be eventually ) sooner. Russians cannot win.

Yeah, because surrendering your country to Russia has a great history of being great for the people who protest against Russian conquests over the past century. Just remember to whistle as you walk by the mass graves.

Russia's only ask in the peace negotiations is that Ukraine agree to not turn itself into a staging ground for NATO to attack Russia. The only reason Zelensky hasn't agreed already is because he gives no fuks about his own people. Obviously no one is coming to save him.

Tacticals range down to .1KT. Yes just 100 ton yield. 150 times smaller than Hiroshima. You don't need to be anywhere near 20 miles away. Not even 1.

The problem with using them is escalatory. Man children like Putin will keep scaling them up in a tantrum.
