Xi is smart, imo this brashness shown by putin which has emboldened NATO is definitely not in chinas interests. China seems to have a nefarious long term strategy of whittling the west down, they know they are no match for US/NATO right now.

Yeah brah I know what he said on television. That's not what the actual strategic imperative is though. Putin is not a moron. Do you think he really believe that Ukraine, a nation controlled by a Jewish president, is a "neo-nazi state"? To quote a geriatric old cuck: come on man. Putin and Lavrov have been saying for the last 10 years that any further NATO expansion eastward would be viewed as an aggressive act and a strategic threat.

It's like how the United States is calling Ukraine a "democracy fighting for survival" when six months ago they were calling it the most corrupt nation on the planet.

Both sides have a strategic interest in Ukraine being a part of their bloc. Do you really not see that? The pleb classes don't understand things like national interest or long-term geostrategic goals. They understand emotions and national fervor. Look at every war throughout history and find me the good one that was fought for real, legitimate reasons. Maybe you could argue WWII, I suppose I probably would, but there are plenty of counterpoints to that position as well-- several of them legitimate.

The ruling caste have to come up with a fantasy LARP for the plebs so they can feel good about sending their teenage sons into the killing fields or paying twice as much money for gas for the foreseeable future.

Never forget the 10 commandments of war propaganda.

Strong jawline on that Azov Nazi, shame about that horseshoe pattern starting to form. Guess when you're bald, it's time to go full Nazi

Also, seems like he was starving pre-Russian liberalization

Zelensky must've promised the Nazis free focaccia bread to shell civilians
very good point. And for example Estonia (which is in NATO) and borders Russia and was former Soviet Union wasnt on his radar. Putin got double standards
Exactly..

If Putin wanted a war because of NATO, all he had to do was attack Estonia. Not ukraine.

If he wants NATO gone, he should try his luck at attacking NATO.
See the post above yours lol, looks like ukraine is resorting to guerilla desperation tactics, be prepared to see them fighting from hospitals and schools more often.

Hopefully ukraine doesn’t have many Mosques lol
Even if true, the Russians are invading a sovereign country to demilitarize and denazify it.

All of this horror falls on the aggressors. When Ukrainians start rolling into Moscow and shooting civilians, then I'll blame them. Until then the fact remains Russia is shelling residential areas, hospitals, schools, theaters, shooting civilians and more atrocities.
Yeah brah I know what he said on television. That's not what the actual strategic imperative is though. I know why Putin invaded Ukraine but it was his manlet mouth that came up with the justification. He should be held to it.

the US fuks around everywhere in europe, it isnt because they want to take over the country though. and the people of ukraine want to be allied with the US, so it isnt like they are forcing their way into diplomatic relations.

russia has been trying to reclaim parts of ukraine since the collapse of the USSR because they were dealt a bad hand. in someway i can sympathize with that because a lot of these territories were actually russian and where "assigned" to ukraine by the USSR.. but the same could be said for so many european nations, that is no reason to forcibly change borders in 2022 though.

This is of course true, and I of course agree with you. But you need to accept that fact that there are large parts of eastern and southern Ukraine that would rather be a part of the Russian bloc than the NATO/western bloc. Why does the US support the independence of Kosovo but not Donetsk? Strategic interest. Kosovo being independent weakens our non-NATO Serbian rival. Donetsk being independent strengthens our non-NATO Russian rival.

The USA supports independence and revolution movements when it is in their interest. So does Russia. Period. There is no morality to discuss here. Ukrainian people are being killed because the diplomatic staff of two Great Power nations were unable to solve their problems like big girls.

If those people who live in Eastern Ukraine want to be Russian sooo badly why do they not move to russia? Putin gave them passports didnt he? If its soo dangerous with all of the shelling and crimes from Azov wouldnt they WANT to go back to their homeland? Seems like propaganda to me

At the risk of sounding like I agree with this commie, what’s the purpose of bombing a theatre with the words “children” in big ass letters lol, sounds like ukraine is getting desperate... Why not bomb all civilians? Why stop there? Why not drop a tac nuke?

Russian guard on the way in. I think it makes sense on why they wouldn't close the encirclements completely. They may be the driving force to complete the encirclements. They probably feel the b team units aren't a good fit for the seal.

Probably going to get real ugly. Russia has got to be in 15-20k in losses. Ukraine likely double or triple that. If not Russia is truly doing a slow low contact approach trying to elicit surrender.

Sure would be nice to get some actual reporting. All we have is Luke creaming his pants on minor Ukraine wins and not the horror it takes for the Russians to be where they are in the first place.

idk tom brah, what possible strategic interest would kosovo being independent give NATO? imo it only hurts NATO to pull the weight of a place like kosovo... either way, even if ukraine recognizes donetsk, the west still wont lol, so it will still be in limbo.

see the issue i have with all of this is why didnt russia go in and defend just donetsk which they recognized as independent prior? why invade all of ukraine? if they had gone into donetsk and defended against the azov nazi, ALL of this counter from NATO would have been avoided.

im fine with the ethnic russian territories going not just independent but id argue they should just be apart of russia... the problem I have is russia is in ukraine for some other reasons aswell, like forcibly changing the govt and judiciary of ukraine to be favorable to them against the wishes of the ukrainian people.

if ukraine people want to be apart of the EU and NATO, why shouldnt they be? obviously if them being apart of NATO means aggression towards russia i completely disagree but we havent seen that happen in any former USSR bloc country that has joined nato, so why suggest it would be different here? NATO membership for ukraine is just a guarantee against further russian aggression, why shouldnt they be allowed to have that?

I challenge you to read 10 stories not sourced off of the others regarding that attack.

Russia could level any of these population centers at any time. I'm not convinced there wouldn't be bloodied bodies of children strewn about the news. The false repeated stories. Etc etc. I'm skeptical and there are conflicting accounts.

It's already documented and they are trying to level the major cities in Ukraine. You can see the satellite images.

You answered my question with a question. I'll still answer yours though. Because land has value. Gas/oil pipelines run through there, there is agriculture in that region, the Black Sea coast is an important point of strategic defense for the Black Sea Fleet.

I'll ask again, why does the US support independence movements from rival nations but not from friendly nations?

So then why did they bomb the phuck out of Serbia to ensure that Kosovo would become independent?

I think Ukraine should be welcomed with open arms into the western sphere of influence, I also think that for that to happen, the borders need to be updated a bit. I'm sorry, it's an ugly reality, but it's the reality. I've been to [deleted because I could face criminal charges in US srs]. People there want to be a part of Russia.

There really has been a war going on there for the past eight years. Civilians were getting killed there too, from Ukrainian Army shelling. Why wasn't CNN covering that if they are so concerned with the human tragedy of all this?

Why did Russia go and invade Ukraine? Because they are going for a land grab before Ukraine joins a bloc that will make their borders permanent. They don't have noble intentions either. Why does Russia care if they invade Ukraine? Because they have territorial claims on eastern and southern Ukraine. A lot of Red Army soldiers died defending that chit brah.

Maybe you don't agree with their psyche, and I don't nessesarily agree either, I'm just telling you what it is.

So you are saying the citizens of Donetsk and Donbass directly benefit from oil and gas pipelines? Or the agriculture even? Those are strategic points for the russian government, not for the civilians. And I was asking about them, not Putin and his cronies.

As far as the US I can only say we do the same **** as Russia, Iran and China trying to destabilize certain regimes. Nobody is innocent in that game are they?

As far as the US I can only say we do the same **** as Russia, Iran and China trying to destabilize certain regimes. Nobody is innocent in that game are they?
Just the Ukrainian people being blown up in their homes during this conflict.

.
The Serbian war was one of ethnic cleansing. They were straight up killing civilians. Which is why NATO were airstriking them, causing them to surrender.

I think Ukraine should be welcomed with open arms into the western sphere of influence, I also think that for that to happen, the borders need to be updated a bit. I'm sorry, it's an ugly reality, but it's the reality. I've been to Donbass.

They don't have noble intentions either.
same reason NATO was ready to go into rwanda in the early 90s. UN investigations concluding rampart war crimes. if i recall correctly the only reason NATO didnt go into rwanda was because the US blocked it due to fears of it turning into another ****lia, im not entirely sure what that means though... im sure the US had its reasons lol.

A mistake btw that the US and all of NATO regarded as a huge shameful blunder. im sure they didnt want to repeat that blunder in a european region. it wasnt just kosovo, nato intervened in bosnia too for the same reasons.

and yea again i completely agree, if the regions of donbas that are majority russian want independence, they should have it. zelenskyy himself has been on tv this week saying this too. hes also said they dont have dropped their interest for nato (lol like nato was gonna accept them), and that ukraine will recognize crimea.

so then why isnt the war over? like you said, russia is going for a bigger land grab than just 2 breakaway regions of donbas AND they want control economically and politically over ukraine.

The theater has a bomb shelter.
https://www.npr.org/2022/03/17/10871...heater-bombing

As many as 1,000 or more people were in the theater and its shelter Wednesday at the time of the attack, Ukrainian officials say. But it remains unclear how many might have survived. The theater's bomb shelter has three separate sections, Taruta said in an update, and it's not known if all of those portions remain intact.
