Okay, so with all the Elden Ring hype I looked through all the games I've bought and never really played, and the easiest of the Souls games is apparently Bloodborne.

And holy fuark, this game is a learning curve. While these types of games super frustrated me in the past I'm taking my time and trying to learn as I go and surprise surprise, it's getting easier. And it's more fun than I thought even though I'm dying a ton. First boss is annihilating me but first time I fought it I only took down about 1/4 of it's HP and last time I got to half.

What's blowing my mind is I'm not even past the first area and there's been SO much going on and so many tough enemies. Wouldn't say I'm hooked, but I can definitely see why people like these games. Challenging doesn't begin to describe it.

EDIT: Just beat the first boss about half an hour after posting. Feels good man.

Das it meng. It's really a feeling with these games that you have to play to understand. Because just from watching it looks frustrating and annoying. And even playing it looks that way too. That first area in Bloodborne made me rage quit for weeks until I got back and decided to commit. But once I did and things started clicking I was having alot of fun. Even though I still died alot, understanding the game, controls and mechanics felt like it was giving me a huge advantage. It's rare to find games like that.

Finally playing Far Cry 5 as the special edition with all DLC was only £17 on sale.

This seems to be one of the few franchises which improves all round which each installment. This game has the most interesting antagonists (The 'Seed' clan) fun missions, smooth combat, detailed map, useful perks. I will eventually play 6 and look forward to it.

Put a buncha hours into Pillars of Eternity 2 before my PC rebuild. Forgot about it, was poking around in my steam library and noticed it again, noticed I didn't complete it, so I put another 40-50 hours into a replay and man it really reminded me how much I love those styles of games like Baldur's Gate and Divinity. Also, Pirates.

Baldur's Gate 3 needs to hurry up.

Once you get to chapters 5-7 the battles become longer and more intense. Every attack I make feels like a super important chess move. It is a thinking man’s game I tell you what. Yes it’s easily one of the best Games I’ve played in forever. Dude everyone With a Nintendo switch must play this. I’d argue there is more battles and less cutscene dialogue as you approach those latter chapters. It just starts off slow, but if you dig in and stick with it, it’s going to take your appreciation to another level. Srs

Im going to play through this 2-3 more times if I can.

Sup boys.

Trying to do a last playthrough of Horizon 1 before moving on to part 2. It will probably take a few weeks to complete since I'm going fully in depth and trying to do all the collectibles as well as full exploration of all the dungeons (cauldrons). I've always completed all the actual story and side missions but never did collectibles. Really enjoying it on ps5 as I have the 4k60 mode unlocked here, the 3 or so times I've played it before were all on 30fps. Feels like almost a totally new experience.

Been playing some Skyward Sword HD. Not sure what to think of it so far. Controls are awkward but I'm playing in "button" mode so I'm not sure if it's any better using motion. A lot of filler between dungeons it seems too.

Skyward Sword is the most divisive 3d zelda game.

There are certain aspects I LOVE. I think it's some of the best dungeon design in the entire series. Has two of my top ten favorite dungeons. You probably are not there yet.

Just started the 2nd dungeon, the Earth Temple.

I actually think I'd really like it if it weren't for the controls feeling off. Just small things like having to hold a button to freelook due to the right stick being used for controlling your sword. Rope swinging seems really unintuitive too.

I feel you. I played the original Wii release, and also have the Switch Remaster. Literally just started the Earth Temple as well in the remaster.

Stick with it if you want. If not, don't. I will say the boss of the earth temple I'm not a fan of.

But Dungeon 4 may be my favorite dungeon in all of Zelda.

Oh I'll definitely play through it. Even what seems to be so far a mediocre Zelda is still a good game.
