Reporters trying to outdo each other and make the biggest scene so they'll get some attention and get shown all over the news again and again so they can go 'hey look I done good; I'll be remembered for making a scene.' Many of them are not there in those press conferences focused on informing the public about important issues or to bring actual important news. They simply get rewarded for making a scene instead. It was same during Trump as it is during Biden.
