People are completely fuked nowadays.


Even older guys. My father was in the military (Special Forces), then he built his whole career in law enforcement. Hes retired now. He watched Black Hawk Down for the first time around a month ago. I asked him if he liked it and he said: "Too boring... all the movie was war"... even old men are getting soft and superficial these days. How can you see a movie like Gladiator or BHD and think it is boring?

Dunno if its just me, but I can't see the ending of Black Hawk Down without getting emotional.

the whole thing is really a metaphor and a historical time piece how athletic white men have always used the government to oppress minorities and the nuclear family ideology only bred hate and contempt and suffering.

It also didnt depict the true sexual natures and freedom of the greek and roman empire, there was a lot of piidophilia and incest and orgies and non monogomy but Gladiator just white washed and heteronormative washed the whole history of the greeks to make up a lie that it was all Heterosexual white people living the nuclear family life.

It could be that your dad has seen enough violence and been around enough military stuff that a movie like that just doesn't appeal to him like it does for you.

It was great but it could have been so much better if HBO had given them the resources. Season 2 felt rushed because they knew the show was getting canceled and they wanted to wrap up the storylines. The sets also felt really low-budget most of the time, like it was too obvious that 90% of the show was being filmed on a sound stage.

But I agree with you, I loved Rome

considering how many films have been made, yes its on the list. but it doesnt crack top 20


most of misc has seen like 50 movies...in english

ive watched 150 to 250 movies a yr for the last 5 yrs, in english, spanish, italian, and french.


Gladiator isnt boring at all. it is a really good film but top 10 for it is pure preference.

Which is fine. most of my favorite films are pure preference. I wouldnt put it in my top 20
