I made a thread similar to this pre-covid, but I think it got deleted, and at the end of it we booked a cruise package to Bermuda due to getting an insane deal through a friend. It got cancelled obviously, so my wife and I want to finally do a trip for a honeymoon that we never got after getting married.

Cruise is off the table this time, I wasn't a fan in the first place, but like I said, got a really good deal at the time. This time we want an all inclusive resorts, going to book October.

Places I've looked into:

- Punta Cana
- Playa Del Carmen
- Tulum
- St. Lucia

One of the biggest issues I've seen reported in reviews is that Mexico beaches get covered in seaweed, making them unusable. Is this a common thing around all the island down there?

- Looking to pay 1-2K per person.
- needs to have rooms with an ocean view
- good food would be nice, seeing that all inclusives are hit or miss.
- clean beaches
- near activities like snorkeling, diving, jet skis, ect.


Would love to hear some suggestions for me to look into since my original thread seems to be deleted. Are they still requiring COVID testing to leave the country and forcing quarantines?

I will rep helpful suggestions/subscribe to come back and get people off recharge.

Isla Mujeres MX. been 15 times never seen seaweed. you can rent a 2 BR/2 BA house with 180-degree ocean views for $150/night.

Its a tiny island that the only way to get there is ferry so its about as safe as you can get. Tons of good food on the island and cool bars/restaurants. Can feel free to travel around freely at really all hours of the day/night which I do not feel good about really anywhere else in MX or the caribbean.

Recommend a B&B called Villalabella.com or I can recommend a house rental if you want one, car service from airport, etc.

Villa la Bella is a good starter point cause owned by Americans and can steer you in the right direction your first time on the island, rent golf carts for you, etc. Only 6 rooms, no kids allowed.

St Lucia was pretty awesome. We got an airbnb on top of one of the hills with a pool and view of the whole island. Jumped/dove off the big piers they have into clear blue water. Good times and highly recommended. I'm sure they have dope resorts if that's all you're looking for though.

My all time favorite and most recommended would be Provo, Turks & Caicos. Grace Bay is legit the most beautiful beach in the world and it was empty when I went because most people don't know sht about it. All the cruise ships go to Grand Turk which is the other island so you won't see those ****g0ts. Check out The Sands Resort At Grace Bay and thank me later SRS

Isla Mujeres is a good suggestion

Somewhere else in Mexico with beautiful beaches which won't have any seaweed is Huatulco. Not really a party place but it has great beaches, lots of activities, and incredible food. It's an area of 9 bays, some undeveloped while others have more touurist infrastructure, not really the all inclusive type of resorts though

No prob boyo, I'm pretty sure The Sands and the other sizeable resorts on Providenciales have their own shuttle/car service so you won't have to dick around waiting/bargaining for a taxi from the airport

walk out of CUN customs, private car waiting, 25 minute car ride to the ferry, bring a beer with you, a ferry boat comes every 15-20 minutes, have a beer while you wait at the bar. 10-15 minute ferry ride and you are on the island at the taxi stand and/or with a golf cart waiting. taxis are everywhere on the island and the rates are standardized.


pretty easy. We'd fly out of Charlotte at 8am or so and by noon local time you're on the island with a drink in hand.

I’ve had a couple bad experiences in Mexico, so I try to avoid it. I would certainly recommend either Costa Rica or Belize. Cayman Islands were sick too. Low key with beautiful beaches and the clearest water you’ve ever seen.

Isla Mujeres is legit. Just came back from Aruba and that place was awesome as well. Very safe, easy to drive and beautiful beaches similar to isla mujeres. Very underrated place.

Feel super sorry for you loser Americans

Long story short - Last time I went, I was at a private beach club and some rich mexican dude started beating the living piss out of his wife on the beach right in front of their 2 little kids. Her face was bleeding and eye was swolen shut. He was really beating her up. Some other women started screaming and the security guard would not touch him. I ran up and told him to stop. He looked at me and hit her in the face again. I decided I couldn't sit there and watch her get killed and still live with myself. So I hit him pretty hard and he want flying (I was way bigger) and told him to calm down. I thought about hospitalizing him, but all I knew was he was rich and violent and we were in Mexico. Not a good combination. So I decided it would be best to try to talk to him and get on good terms. Long story short, it worked. But that really left a bad taste in my mouth and I have little to no desire to go back.

Also, cops pull you over and shake you down every chance they get. Gotta give them a bribe. That's happened several times to me as well. I also got H-Pylori down there when I was younger and was sick for like 5 months.

I'd much rather go to Costa Rica. Way more chill and safe.

been to 3 of the 4 on your list. prob go with playa del carmen. the hilton is right on the ocean but only 2 blocks from 5th avenue where all the chit in town is so easily walkable.

I’ve been a couple of times to cancun in 5* hotels.

I barely left my 5* prison as was all inclusive.

Agree on the beaches. Did a 10 minute walk in beach but was too hot,

I stayed at the Renaissance so I can go to the island for the flamingos (Wifey wanted it). The rest of the days I stayed at an airbnb in the southside away from the tourist spots to save $$. Thankfully Aruba is not huge so driving from one end to another takes no more than 30 mins. Hardly any traffic.
