I havent looked in about 6 months or a year cause my life doesn't revolve around discovering the truth with covid, but I'm pretty sure the only thing that speculated that it would be effective was retrospective studies and pre prints, many of which got retracted or edited after under scrutiny

A total of 3515 patients were randomly assigned to receive ivermectin (679 patients), placebo (679), or another intervention (2157). Overall, 100 patients (14.7%) in the ivermectin group had a primary-outcome event, as compared with 111 (16.3%) in the placebo group (relative risk, 0.90; 95% Bayesian credible interval, 0.70 to 1.16)
um according to the study itself, the ivermectin group had a 10% reduction in hospitalizations...

They must have used people in very high risk groups for this study. 16% hospitalization rate is extremely high to begin with. A 10% reduction in hospitalization in a very high risk group sounds pretty good to me.

When did they administer it? Studies show it's only effective in the first 48 hours of symptoms. Beyond that it has no effect. You gotta make sure they are comparing apples to apples. If they waited 5 days an then did it, it's not gonna have any affect. Do I think Pfizer would fund a bs study rigged for failure? Yes, yes I do.

Scientists are supposed to declare the origins of their funding and if there are any conflict of interests. It's the first thing someone should look at before reading a paper.

ya

they did

The trial was coordinated by Platform Life Sciences, and Cardresearch conducted the trial and collected the data. The first and last authors had full access to all the trial data and vouch for the accuracy and completeness of the data and for the fidelity of the trial to the protocol. The funders had in the design and conduct of the trial; the collection, management, analysis, or interpretation of the data; the preparation, review, or approval of the manuscript; or the decision to submit the manuscript for publication.Ivermectin was purchased at full cost.

I was just answering the guy I quoted. I have no interest in looking for the truth about covid, whatever it might be, and you'll find in my post history, if you care, that I never seriously argued for/against any theory floating out there.

Have you ever done graduate research or had a job working in research during your undergrad or ya just talking out your ass/alex jones talking points

(you can find studies sponsored by pharmaceutical companies that ended poorly for the drug if you get bored enough to look)
