They would have to outlaw the other cryptos and only legalize designated, government-approved cryptos. At which point the majority of crypto-investors will withdraw or invest less money as it would be very much like the stock market.

Then NFTs will become the new cryptocurrency (until they outlaw anything not-government approved).

My biggest concern, is governments (in and the US IRS) having the capability to track every single transaction. Imagine you made extra money (gorila credits) from a spring cleaning sale? Taxed.

You think governments are smart and competent enough to do this? Extremely smart people do not work for the government. The people building new crypto currencies are pretending that they will work with western governments while designing privacy- and decentralization-enabling features that regulators are too dumb to realize.

Thats the least of our concerns in my opinion. The biggest concern is that if you go against the government agenda at all, your money gets shut off.

Didn't get your latest vaccine? Money off. Dared to criticize the president online? Money off. Went over your allotted gasoline amount? Money off.
Oh you're protesting vaccine mandates? Money off.

This is my biggest fear of where a removal of cash from society and a full CBDC is going. This is scary stuff. They're trying to position this thing as a supplement to cash for speedier bank transactions and as a way to prevent criminals from transacting. I'm not buying it, this is so they can have complete control over our money and can crush any dissenters.

Before Covid this sounded insane. Then they did it to the Canadian truckers and are currently doing it to Russian Billionaires. It is really scary how nobody seems to care about this.

If you're thinking about going from crypto -> fiat/CBDC currency, then ya, we're all fked and the government will see everything we do. Crypto should be thought of as currency, hence cryptocurrency. While the transaction might be traceable, associating the person to the address is a lot harder. This is why we need real crypto adoption, not just a bunch of *******s who treat it as a get rich scheme.
