Being in the wedding party is costly as well. That seems a bit extreme for a weekend.

youre being a cheap bastard
most people are expected to at least have 400-500 for a bachelor party weekend and thats people who make half or less of what you make and are really struggling.
Live life a little and enjoy this as a perfect excuse to do that.

You got the money, you gotta live your life man. I know its not an ordinary bachelor party like one night out, but think of it more like traveling to Puerto Rico to see the place and in the mean while you are also attending a bachelor party.
i'm telling you, enjoy it while you are young. he's getting married and you'll likely never do something like this again with them
$1500-$2000 is pretty cheap, i spent $3k-4k in hawaii 5 days. worth every penny.

I would do it.
It’s one weekend.
Expensive yes. But who wants to be the richest man in the cemetery!

Doesn't sound like you can't afford it but I see how it seems like a lot to spend.
If you're just not wired to spend like that/party/etc and wouldn't thoroughly look forward to it I wouldn't go as nobody should expect a friend to drop money like that on a stag if they don't want to.
But yeah in 5 years time if you keep making 6 figures the $$$ from this trip will be insignificant.

Seems very reasonable given your finances. Assuming you’re smart and work a decent amount towards your career you’ll have more money than you know what to do with in your 30s. Then you’ll be looking back and saying why was I saving so hard in my 20s..

Bachelor parties are dumb and cliche and that sounds like a huge waste of time and money, but he's your long-time friend, so I dunno.

IMO money comes and goes, experiences can last forever and what you’ll remember on your deathbed.
So up to you to weigh this one out, whether it’s worth it.
Work overtime or something.

3. You are kind of a chit friend for not wanting to spend 1 month of excess savings on a lifetime friend.
When my buddy got married and I was the best man, we did similar (house on the beach, fishing guides deep sea, etc) and I paid for the whole thing no questions., That way everyone could experience a great time with the bros without having to worry about who could afford what. I just wanted him to have a great experience.

Go, enjoy life, make lasting memories, and dont worry about money. NO ONE likes the cheap phukker on a guys trip. Buy that extra round, splurge on someone elses lap dance, etc. You dont go on vacation / guys trips to save money.
I promise you in 10-20 years that you will look back on these times and think "damn, I would give anything to have more of those trips." Only gets harder to make things like that happen as you and your friend group get older, and have more life anchoring responsibilities.

Private chef is unnecessary. But I'd say just bite the bullet and do it.
For my brother's bachelor party, we all flew down to Cartagena Colombia and rented a mansion in the walled city that came with a Butler. Stocked the place with unlimited booze and drugs, and we went and picked groups of hookers off of the street to come back and party. Was absolutely hilarious and awesome. Moments they all still talk about regularly.
I would understand if you were a student with no income. But you're earning six figures. Even if finances will be a bit tight after for a month, it's not going to break you.
