Seems highly unnecessary. Maybe if you are heavily juiced and ifbb pro doing it for a living.

My understanding is it is benificial if you are doing lighter high volume work. Though if you are pushing it close to maximum load in both sessionsyou could be doing more harm than good as it will limit your recovery time. Though really recovery time is irrelevant unless you plan to lift again tommorow

Feels great, I do it often.

On days off: Gym in the morning. Eat big, rest. Gym at night. Eat big, sleep.

On regular days: cardio in the morning, eat, work/school. Lift at night. Eat big, sleep.

That's called the Bulgarian Method.

Read about it.

My thing is German Volume Training and it works great.

I love the gym but can't go twice a day.

I did it yesterday. Did cardio and upper body, then was bored and came back and did a pretty intense leg workout a couple hours later.

Usually if I'm at the gym twice in a day, the 2nd time is just for Hot Tub and Shower.

I did that for about a year back in 2005 or so. I just spent about an hour or so on each visit, went to a local mall to proton max in between, and had few real-world responsibilities at the time. It felt amazing, and i’d be doing it today, if I wasn’t weighed down by other tasks that I need to attend to.

You can train twice a day. Like if you normally do a pull day you could train back early and then biceps later in the day. It's not necessary though

Only broscience I can think is better insulin sensitivity due to more bouts of activity

Actual gains would probably factor more in a surplus

I did when I was overweight and dropping weight.

Oh God NO now! I hit hard, done, burnt, shouldn't work out the one time tomorrow. Gonna do it anyways.

The way I look at overtraining is you're gonna have a "workout" that is just shtty. That's the rest day and assuming you got past injuring yourself because of lack of body awareness. When I realize I am having a shtty workout rest day, I switch it to even more pre-hab stuff than nornal. Normal I do every day.

Leo Costa's 2x a day program from Big Beyond Belief. Never tried the 2x, but love the 6 days a week routine.

TBH I only go to the gym twice if I felt bad about my first workout, or if I wanna do some extra cardio.

Today I left the gym a little early, skipped out on 2 sets of flies that I normally would've done, and maybe could've gone harder on my triceps. So coincidentally today/tonight would've been a good time for a round 2.
