Why has nobody picked up 'Spawn'?

Especially in today's comic book crazed culture.

todd mcfarlane has been putting together a newer movie for awhile and he's just not willing to compromise on it and since it needs to be R rated it's just not been done yet, but there has been interest in it for awhile. if todd will loosen up on his creative control it'll get done at some point i'm sure, although if he's not in charge it will likely suck so who knows. the original spawn movie was cool and the animated series was badass, he's one of the coolest comic characters so i definitely hope it gets picked up. he also did the best spiderman comics.

I liked and hated that comic at the same time.

The art could be fabulous but then he would draw people, like the cops, to look like children's cartoon characters. So it was great realism mixed with stupid looking cartoons.

If Spawn wanted to turn into a human, he would turn into a white guy---which was too horrible to contemplate as a black man. That was a bit over the top from a white writer.

Spawn couldn't use his powers or he would die.

Overall, I liked the general idea but thought it was a depressing story.

Never have read the original comic book but I watched the 1997 movie and bought the DVD a long time ago.

The movie isn't good though there are a few scenes that are actually funny. The only reason I bought it was Michael Jay White in it. One of the GOAT actor-martial artists I admire and respect.

But It's been in the 10th circle of development hell for over 2 decades in terms of a part 2, let alone a netflix 6 part series at the most.

Props to Todd McFarlane for still having faith in his character and not selling his character.

Original movie was a masterpiece. I remember I had the violator action figure and spawn action figure with snap on cape as a lad.

Prolly too “controversial” for all the retarded reasons for them to remake it now, especially with the lead being black and not a Mary Sue.

The animated version was gruesome. Kids getting violated and murdered. The SNES game gave me such a headache, because I played it without realizing that this guy actually had powers, and you could heal yourself with some random combo of button.

I could see Image being the next Marvel. srs.

They had so many good comics and great writing.

Lots of people don't even realize series or movies they really like were based on Image Comics.

Would love to see a Witchblade movie or a Cyber Force or Youngblood show. Wildcats would also be awesome if they did one for adults.
