My dad is in the hospital. Not doing well...
Hey MISC, long time no post, im posting this because i need to vent. My dad went to the ER for his back the other night for back pain, they found a hole in his aorta. He is currently on breathing tubes right now along with dialysis because his kidneys are not doing well. Im am not sure of the outcome. Its only the second day. IF something happens it will be me my mom and my brother, me and my brother live with my dad. Im very sad and keep crying a bit, saw him yesterday in the hospital, he couldnt speak or move or anything.

This is what my brother texted the family group chat yesterday, its what the doctor said:
"Okay. Doctor said hes out -
His aorta was definitely disrupted, if he didnt come in he said he probably would have been dead by the end of the week
He said its a very serious catastrophic thing to happen. However the surgery did go well and hes not bleeding but it doesnt mean it cant go wrong later, and that it will be a long road to recovery , cant really say odds"

get your dad really focused on heart/cadiovascular health especially BP control.
A lot of our dads will lie about BP control and claim they have it under control but they dont or are taking tons of prescription meds while still doing the behaviors causing the problems.
I say this because kidney and heart problems at the same time is very likely a BP issue caused by something else both of which needs to be dealt with on a lifestyle basis not just medication/surgery but doctors wont stress it enough and people wont listen.

Remember you brah, it’s been a while. Sorry you’re going through this. Pray for the best possible outcome. The human body is a powerful machine. Many people have overcome some insane chit. I do understand how you might be feeling though, my grandfather is currently in the hospital for an aorta issue as well, scheduled for major surgery in a few days. It’s rough watching loved ones go through such pain that we’re helpless to mend. Your family will be in my thoughts.

Being reliant on more and more medicines piling up over time leads to death faster and faster the more medications you tack on. The meds obviously dont cause it but things are not going in the right direction if meds are being added and its masking the problems worse and worse.
Ive been through it with my dad to about the same point you are at, then finally I convinced him to change his life which was easier because of my health and fitness level, he actually listened. Now hes probably going to live to be 90 and would have died a few years ago.
