I always lol at people that are together for 5 years and not married, strong waste of time

If I was a female and a guy hadn’t proposed to me after a year, I’m out.

But srs, 2 years is the absolute max

Agreed op. I would say you could properly vet someone in less time if you really put effort into it. Spend less time dating and more time courting, and you should see if she is wife material soon enough.

Just because you know you want to marry someone doesn't mean you want to be married.

My brother was in a relationship with his wife for 10 years before marrying her. It was clear they would get married after probably like 4-5, but neither wanted to be married at age 25.

It depends.

If there is no reason to get married... why do it?

Don't wanna have kids? Don't wanna share taxes? Don't wanna mix assets?

Just be together, but don't tell your local gov't about it.

People place way too much importance on "marriage". Don't kid yourself, it's nothing more than a legal documentation for the purpose of assets upon death/break up.

the whole lovey dovey BS is a facade. ded fukin srs.

Yeah, I'm not sure I need a time frame or pact with the state to proclaim how much I care about someone.

Just googled, the average wedding cost in the USA is roughly $29k.

But "she's been dreaming of this day her entire life" meanwhile my sensible sister went to the court house. She planned on having a reception at a later date, but never did LOL so much money saved, proud of her.

Good friend of mine had good chunk of cash saved up and blew it all on his wedding, it'd say 20k for it all. All for a very simple ceremony, drinks and food. Yet, had to have a coordinator because it became impossible to manage and time it all out apparently.

You're right. The modern dating culture is retarded and the results (quality of homes formed, quality of children raised) speak for themselves.

Meh... I wouldn't call it a waste of time necessarily because I have a few friends that have been with their GF happily for years because they were both content with the status quo... didnt require some piece of paper from the government to be with each other.

Its a symbol of love

once you're married then you proceed to have children and so on

That's really low. I went to a lot of $50K weddings in the 90s.

My wedding cost $7K and we had 150 guests.

Eh I understand this but also getting married is pretty annoying. If you're happy who cares?

it's an ancient covenant between two souls, god and community.
I guess I'd rather just have dogs and dildos than some limp dicked, insincere person who disrespects me by shooting blanks like a teen. sex with no marriage is shooting blanks. I wanted to respect men. Good god did I ever. The thing that kills respect is when they don't uphold their end of the bargain. Modern dudes think sex without marriage is okay. nope. haven't fukked in 11 years and have no plans to because folks are insincere about it.
casual sex doesn't lead to orgasm. sincere sex does, and then the male walks away and it's all just a waste. Marriage makes it worth it.
