International interests directly conflict with our internally facing principles. That is obvious. Conflating the scale of our politics proves to me you only wish to harm America, period.

This measure won't do anything because the underlying Market is over regulated. The solution has always been to reduce property taxes, get rid of red tape and actually encouraging Canadians to start saving at a young age to buy their first home. Barring a bunch of fake commies from China from buying real estate won't do anything.
Montreal's housing prices is through the roof and it's not because of Chinese investors. It's because of dumb Liberal policies limiting the supply of houses and the ridiculous property taxes.

The point is that you yourself are a foreigner buying houses yet you're whining about foreigners buying houses. Therefore, your real issue can't possibly be with foreigners buying houses yes?
Everyone knows that Canadians and Australians complaining about foreigners buying up all the houses are talking about Chinese people. Plenty of those Chinese people are citizens of a number of countries themselves. You are no less foreign than those Chinese people by definition or by legal definition. Be a man rather than a weasel and admit when you're wrong and that it's clearly about race.

Also I don’t buy houses I build them (more precisely pay architects, engineers and builders to build them). Thus adding to the aggregate supply of houses.
I’m not complaining about either case. I’m just observing that it’s strange that Canadia didn’t already have these rules in place

Can corporations/investment firms buy SFHs in canada?
Someone needs to do something here to stop/slow investments firms from buying up so much housing...also start limiting/taxing people who have multiple investment properties.

Do they? Doutbful
There is more money to be made in condos/commercial properties over a SFH. Not worth the effort of having to deal with (most likely) one family occupying the household.
