I don't know. I always am using Milwaukee, but I think the shyt is mid tier trash.

Hand tools wise, Klein is the best.

I like and own hilti but milwaukee clearly has a bigger range of different tools. Those two are clearly the best for battery tools then Makita and dewalt.

Its all made in china now so its all a bit meh whatever.



Fein and metabo for wall socket stuff and commercial use imo.

for electrician chit i like knipex, wiha, wera. pb swiss is another

for wrenches and chit? not sure id spend the premium. tekton is good for the money in everything ive seen

Milwaukee is the king for batteries right now. I run makita though.

Craftsman makes good tools just not battery ones.

Best easily available in North America- Milwaukee
Widest selection. Fuel line is top rated.

Makita for corded tools.

Ridgid has best warranty. Lifetime on all their batteries now. Lifetime on all their tools

Ryobi best bang for your buck if you buy it on sale. Brushless if you can get it.

Compact brushless versions of all the tools will have less power than the same full size brushed tool.

If you're starting with a drill/driver combo buy the hammer drill version. Same as a drill except you can drill into concrete. Wait until it goes on sale.

Most of what I have is DeWalt. I’m not a professional though, I just do a lot of home repair. If my livelihood depended on my tools, I’d do a lot of research, and probably spend a lot more money (when you do it right, it pays off in the end).

I've been hearing good things about Flex, tried out their circular saw and it beats Makita, Dewalt and Milwuakee's for sure.

yea, its tough. imo, the top brands do a few things better than others. and theres not a consistent platform that performs at the top every time

ive seen some tests that use makita... and then they use their old line from a long time ago

but you cant compare makitas 40v line to others 18v





in project farms recent multi tool vid. he used the old makita multi tool. i have both. this one is way better. its insane. it's quiet and has like no vibration

my dad swears by ryobi, he's heavily used all his for like 4-8 years now depending on which one

makita, dewalt, ryobi or milwaki. Honestly you can probably pick your fav colour/ price point if its for weekend warrior use.

this pretty much

i use almost exclusively dewalt stuff but it was out of wanting the cordless 12" miter saw and the milwaukee one didn't exist at the time. if i had to do it again i'd go with milwaukee because of the specialty cordless tools. can't fukin believe it took this long for dewalt to come out with a cordless ratchet. seriously unbelievable.

Makita is straight garbage

Except

Their skill saw ,all I used when I framed house in the 80s

Can't kill it ,you can beat the f put of it ,straighten the table and keep going

Dewalt is slightly better ,but not much

Sadly ,black and decker ,who I think made the best tools ,was bought by dewalr decades ago and snuffed out

IIRC they performed the best in Project Farm tests. I still have the same set from a year ago and they're working fine. Maybe you bought a knock off set, which is becoming pretty common.

I've used people's Milwaukee and Dewalts out in the field. Don't like the way they feel

But I'm willing to invest a bit into Milwaukee. I'd buy some slowly

While keeping mainly makita then deciding between the two

Dewalt and Milwaukee feel weird to me. Like they have slow rotation but increased torque and make your wrist go with it . But like I said, I'm willing to try

I do think I'd stick with makita but maybe not

power drill
nail gun
circular saw
blower (for driveway and sidewalk and other small jobs)

(these are all battery-powered...and I have 2 batteries that I use for all of them).

I have a dewalt Miter saw and it's a VERY SOLID tool (actually my brother in law's but just keep it at my house since he has two)

Maybe don't go with Ryobi for job site construction but they are fine for DIY projects around the house. Plus their 40 volt outdoor equipment line is really good too.

For hand tools Klein is pretty good but Knipex is better. I think anything from Tekton is pretty much best bang for the buck out there. Gearwrench is solid too.
