lol at not owning a motorcycle
Nothing makes you feel more alive than being inches from death.
Documented by academics and philosophers alike, the call is not an indication of subliminal suicidal thoughts: that urge to leap off a cliff isn’t a morbid fantasy but actually a survival instinct. A 2012 study at Florida State University, which coined the term High Place Phenomenon (HPP) to describe the call of the void, found that people with higher levels of anxiety reported higher levels of HPP. To explain this, the study suggested that the urge to jump is a misinterpreted survival instinct: the brain instills a fear that one might jump off a cliff on purpose to tell the body not to jump off a cliff. It may seem counterintuitive, but perhaps it explains an evolutionary reason for anxiety.
The urge to jump, the study declared, affirmed the urge to live.

Scared to get a bike because I'm afraid I'll like it too much. I lived on a bicycle as a kid.

I've never rode a motorcycle before but I always wanted to get a Harley just to see how I would like riding it. But then I hear all these stories about motorcycle accidents and it makes me think twice.

My sister's boyfriend died in a motorcycle accident years ago. He left the house to grab some thing down the street and when he didn't come back for almost an hour my sis and friend got in the car to look for him.
Just down the street he had hit a car turning from the opposing lane, which sent him flying into oncoming traffic, where he was pinned underneath the wheels of another car.
Whenever I think about it I just thank God she wasn't on it. And I don't think I have to worry about her ever getting on one again.
To make the story worse, his parents had just buried their daughter a couple years ago after she was stabbed to death at a movie theater by her psycho ex. They live in the south and have had to fly back to bury both of their kids. 😢
Anyway, my advise is do what I do, ride a dirtbike/ATV instead!

An amusement park will provide the same or better thrills without such a high probability of carnage. Only simpletons come up with "we all go sometime", "when your time's up" etc

I have had a handful of 'close calls' that could have been fatal and involved another vehicle. It is always someone making a left turn in front of you. All of my other 'close calls' are from me being reckless.

I've had 3 friends die in motorcycle accidents. All three of them got rear ended on the highway, sent them flying off the motorcycle and into multiple cars.
I don't think I'd ever get on one tbh

A bike is one thing that's worth the risk involved. But its also a high-skill cap low inhib activity. If you're naturally afraid/insecure/unwilling to push your limits it probably won't be so fun as you'll be too scared to do anything.

Never going to ride again...too many close calls, like live or die close calls, due to other idiots.
This was my beast...bored out to 985cc, 31mm Keihin CR carbs, Ohlins in the rear, Race tech springs up front, Brembos front and rear, Kerker open baffle 4 into 1, CBR 600RR wheels, Calfab swingarm to accommodate wide back wheel....absolute freight train that you could get your knees down with.
Literally miss this bike everyday.
