Woodworkers of misc. Cutting circular, square etc holes in center pieces of wood ?
New to wood working and I’m trying to figure out what tool wood best work for cutting holes in pieces of wood without going from the side ? Cleanest cut.

How thick is the piece of wood and how big a square are you cutting? A chisel would cut a square cleaner than a saw, just be sure to cut against the grain first, otherwise it will split.
There are also special tools for cutting squares.
Edit: just read the op again, you are talking about cutting the center out, like on a wood lathe?
