Late-90s/Early 2000s was peak humanity. Enough technology for convenience without it infiltrating our lives completely. Music was also so much more creative and varied in this era. If you were a goth, you had punk/alt songs that were still popular. If you liked hip-hop, it was near it's peak and all over the charts. If you liked generic pop/R&B, there were popular songs for you too. Now all Top 40 music is the same and have similar beats/chord progressions.

Not for me. Mainstream always sucked but that time frame especially was absolutely garbage for the most part. When the digital age started and creativity faded.
