He is adamantly against censorship, which is why he refused to ban Russian news sources from his starlink systems providing internet in Ukraine. There is talk he will unban James Okeefe and The orange one. Imagine if he also unbanned Alex Jones.

Really though I think it is something else. As someone else suggested it is the defacto town hall, it is also clearly manipulated and has the reach to control public discourse and opinion, this is a power that has been abused by twitter for years. Does anyone for a second believe Musk is above wielding this power for his own benifit?
