UK brahs - how can the UK GOV remove the Resident Labour Market Test?
This **** makes no sense. Brexit was all about focusing on what is good for the UK and its local pop.
So after leaving the EU, a Philipino and a German would have an equal chance of getting a visa sponsored job. That is completely fine and normal because why should an EU be prioritised now? No problem.
However, every country in the world, especially the USA and Australia, has rules for entities to showcase that the job was offered to a local (someone with permanent residence or passport of the said country) first.
This was the RLMT in the UK and I don't see any other safeguards.
Rishi Sunak, aka Mr. Fiscal Policy UK, is married to the heiress of consultancy giant Infosys which can now easily allow the business elite of the country to tap into a global market.

Because the UK without foreigners is doomed to fail as no one wants to do the high labour/lower end jobs, from my experience in the uk most skilled workers are not british, as the actual skilled british workers get out given the first chance, and who can blaim them.
most brits seem quite content living in the middle class, i know im generalizing, but almost every brit ive met only seems to care about buying a house and thats pretty much it.

your comment makes no sense a bit, Brit workers don't want lower end jobs and they are not in the skilled ones, where are they?
this is just bad for the salaried professionals in the UK? Minimum salary requirements protect low skill jobs actually.

How can they not stop pointing to Australia with their system and whatnot and then fail to at least safeguard the local's right to have a job before introducing an immigrant.

the problem is LOCAL vs INTERNATIONAL protection
here are the requirements for a job to be visa sponsorable:
- it must pay a certain minimum
- it must be on the shortage occupations list
the above two kinda exclude a lot of jobs already
- it must pass the RLMT
but this RLMT is designed for a highly skilled job to first be offered to a local who might qualify for it and ONLY THEN consider outside the UK.
From Brexit, a change is that an EU/EEA person now has to go through all of the above like someone from Asia/Africa. All fine and dandy. That is how USA/AUS do it.
But with the RLMT gone now theoretically if you are a business that wants to hire something high skilled, you don't have to offer it to a local first. Which gives you the right to a much larger talent pool and that leads to wage supression.

The tories are blairite liberals, removing the top layer of bureaucracy means there is at least a chance that a right wing party may get elected and be able to enact change, but it's unlikely as long as the tories continue to dupe right wing people into voting for them, a leftist party.
People our age have only ever known a political blairite consensus. A party that would actually do what you suggest, reduce immigration, repeal the equality act and the hate speech laws would be nice but I can't see it happening any time soon.

like another guy said here most people who voted for brexit are not going to wake up at 5 am to pick blueberries for 9 pound a hour. Funny you should mention oz because alot of brits who arent there on a working holiday visa are there as skilled workers, because the salary is alot higher and the quality of life is much better too.
again this is just my opinion, ofcourse im sure there's plenty of skilled brits who stay and plenty working lower jobs, this is just from what i've seen in the last years ive been working here.

Brexit was a choice. Britain chose temporary pain for long term retention of culture. In the long run it will prove to be worth it imo. But yes it will hurt in the short term. That's how long-term goals work.
It's not surprising to see idiot liberals with no foresight and who live only to satisfy their immediate desires don't get it.
This is a bodybuilding forum right? How do people not get this?

Brexit promoted protectionism on every level for retention. And the OP literally laid out how local labour rights are diminished encouraging wage suppression and displacement via more immigration, thanks to Brexit.

Getting out of the EU was an important first step. The UK isn't going to un**** itself overnight.
