Meat has barely moved here in the UK when it comes to prices.

Everything else is going super high.

I am trying out a carnivore version of keto where I eat only all kinds of meat + condiments/rubs/marinades and have yet to experience any difference.

Meat was on sale here the other day because it was about to spoil.

Where are you shopping OP?

Looking at chicken prices in LIDL today, chicken breast was 5.99 per kg - pre-Ukraine it was around 4.90 per kg.

Beef doesn't seem to have gone up quite so much and NZ lamb is still pretty cheap.

I will admit - I dont eat chicken breast because they are a scam even at less than 5 quid per kg.

That is because fat is good for you so keep the skin on. You even get more protein per 1 GBP from bone-in/skin-on thighs drumsticks wings. Prices there haven't bulged I swear.

Agree chicken breast is a con - I watch the price as a barometer for what's happening. Normally go with thighs myself, done in some seasoned breadcrumbs in the air fryer. I think you're right, the skin on legs were about 1.79 kg... I stocked up on them last week.

I don't think chicken breast because you have several things inflating its price that is beyond Russia-Ukraine/other global events:

- a false unscientific perception that fatless meat is better/healthier

- the most production cost due to more processing needs (remove bones, skin, cut); when you throw in a supply chain disrupting event this hurts even worse

Haven't noticed any change in food prices at all, but I don't budget anyway and I usually buy meat at farm shops
