I've just been reading about his death and details of the funeral procession on wiki. Amazing stuff. Brazil declared three days of national mourning following his death, and an estimated 3 million came to pay respect at Senna's hometown of São Paulo.

3 million. He inspired that level of respect.

Check Senna (2013) documentary. You are going to understand.

Some videos (so, probably you can get an idea):

Funeral:

It was a mixture between talent, charisma, and context. But he was absolutely legendary (much bigger than Michael Jordan in the USA, for example).

There is no one so "important" to Americans as Ayrton Senna is to Brazilians.

Check this (last lap Brazilian Grand Prix 1993):

He is like a semi-god in Brazil. Probably the most respected Brazilian of all time.

The amout of times he is mentioned is unbelievable. The impact of his death in Brazil is like... the impact of 9/11 in the USA.

The media pays a tribute to him every year, despite the fact he has been gone for 28 years.

He is literally the closest you can get to god status.

Only a retard would say that. G-forces are really hard on your body and drivers require a lot of physical training and dieting before jumping into the car.

Most normies would pass out or break their neck on the 3rd lap.

Are astronauts and fighter pilots athletes ?

What’s the training go to 6 flags a lot?

Also who really cares about how many Brazilians gather. Have you seen a Brazilian soccer game compared to any other country? That’s just how they are.

It doesn't matter.

You aint getting there (now imagine being 3x world champion) if you are not born to be there.

Astronauts and Pilots (fighter pilots) are not competing. Acrobatic Pilots (lets say Red Bull Air Race pilots which gotta handle as high Gs as fighter pilots - check the video below, the number in the middle is the amount of Gs) for example, are athletes.

^^Thats physically harder than playing basketball... or even football.

And no... thats not true. Brazilians gather like Europeans gather. Did you ever seen an European soccer game?

Senna is on another level.

Yes.

Pele is the number two, after Senna.

Even presidents and congressman brag because they had the oportunity to TALK to Senna once.

If we forget the USA, hes more famous than Tom Brady, Michael Jordan or Lebron James. Kobe Bryant for example... no one knows him in Europe (only NBA followers which are not a lot).

He is a legend in Japan aswell. And he is big enough in Europe.

Lol Senna is quite well known even around normies and is the most popular racing driver. Also try driving an F1 car for a lap, bet you will throw up, pass out or break your neck. F1 drivers put a huge amount of physical effort all year to be prepared when jumping in the car.

Most inspirational athlete. I'd pick Joe Delaney who died attempting to rescue 3 drowing boys.

Wrong. It's about the most physically taxing thing you'll do, trying to control a car at over 300km/h for extended periods
A lot of people can't understand it. They drive their automatic prius every day to their work and think they know what is racing (when if fact... they can't even drive).

They can't conceive that something that you do while seated can be physically difficult. Which is just stupid.

IF you are feeling Gs, contracting muscles to deal with it, sweating like a mother fuker, controlling your breathing etc ... it is physical.

If you are racing you are competing. Physical + Competing... is a sport obviously.

I used the Red Bull Air Race pilots as an example... you can't watch it and say it isn't physical demanding (video below, again). Same with F1 drivers.
