I wouldn't say this is true for all NFT's. They are what you make them to be.

Many are just hyperlinks or whatever as a way to access it, but that doesn't mean you can't attach ownership/rights/royalties, etc to it.

Even when you hold a physical painting that's on your wall, all you really have is the exclusive ability to view it at your leisure...you aren't anymore connected to the atoms of the painting on the wall than you are to an NFT that you purchased and left on the web.
