does the misc have any Gambling stories?

watched the movie 21 from 2008.

but gambling seems to ruin more lives than most other activities. i want to hear stories about this.

i'm down 10k from gambling. it's a horrible addiction. but i feel blessed to only be down that much.

I spent a few year with my income being entirely based on how much I won playing poker. I can't remember any crazy stories though.

There's a Miscer who landed in jail to a gambling addiction leading him to rob a place without a mask...then he got into further trouble due to his intent to penetrate a cell mate.

I used to have a positive winrate up to 25nl. Had a good poker table ratings score etc. After 2011 I literally couldn’t win anymore. I study GTO and use solvers and everything.

Coming to the realization that I’m just a horrible player and was taking advantage of people that weren’t trying/barely knew how to play. Once those people stopped playing, it was over.


Let me see if I can find my shark scope, I barely played tournaments though

I had a 10 leg parlay for 8.5k off like $30. Got 9 legs and needed the last leg which was paying $1.50. Guy scored the try but ref called the pass forward (was Rugby League where you can only pass flat or backwards.) The next game the same guy broke the all time league record by scoring 6 tries in 1 game lol. Was pretty mad.

I'm convinced online poker software is rigged. I did win a few decent size tourneys and got top 40 in the Sunday Million once though (only played SM a handful of times).

For me personally, no. But I saw a lady not play the 3rd bet on 3 card poker and missed out on like 100k or something. I forget the payout but it was absurd.

I couldn't care less about gambling, but my wife likes those penny slots. Never spends more than $200.

Last year in Niagara Falls she won $700.00.

it sucks. so rare to find people who are actually up. there's a different kind of thrill when you can run nothing up to a lot and then you get cocky and then just let greed take over and ruin you. then back to square 1.

That's because you only remember the bad beats and never remember the countless amount of times you sucked out. It's impossible to win an MTT without sucking out.

Playing Stock Options is way more addictive to me than anything taking place at a Casino. You can't even bet enough at a casino to raise my blood pressure, it's straight up recreation.

However, I've seen people who go into a casino and clearly start Jonesing. It's really bizarre, and it's people who generally aren't doing too well in life and can't get that rush in any other way.

100%. I’ve been on probably a dozen of those miraculous runs in the 7 years I’ve been sports betting where I run my online bankroll from a few hundred to >$20000. Sometimes I cash out big but more often than not I lose it all in a few blinks when I up my bet a few thousand a pop. When you go on those runs, you feel like you’re well on your way to becoming a millionaire but the odds always have their way of normalizing. Still fun as heck though even when I lose.

I currently move the line on any bet I make on golf at bookmaker. Makes me feel like a boss. Took them for 190k within the last 4 months before they wised up. Gave some back since then but it’s too much fun. Hit Adri Armaus today with a -7 Sunday to finally bust my cherry and win on the eurotard tour. I fkn hate that tour.

365 day statement on SportsBet showed I was in profit a few grand from horse betting (I only really bet during Spring Carnival in Melbourne, I go to a lot of race meets).

But my story is one Friday after work met a mate at the pub for a beer. Put $20 into Lightning Links and won the 15k Jackpot. I never play pokies was I am well and truly in the green there. Was only doing 50c spins as well.

When I needed money I would play poker in Atlantic city, Vegas or online. I'm up at least 50k from the 2000s, I won or in the moneyed many 100+ person tournaments.

Around 2007 I needed money so I went to AC. I had pocket queens, the guy next to me I could see his hand was pocket 8s. He went all in on a ****ty flop, so did I. He hit an 8 on the turn and I lost all of my money.

I forget how much but it was between 2-5k. Which I needed for rent at the time. I lost my rent money. Not sure how I paid it or if that was the apartment I got evicted from.

Haven't really gambled since except a weekly game of $100.
