***The Official Rugby League (NRL) 2022 thread!***
It's that time of year again Rugby League fans, with kick-off just days away I thought I should start another thread to discuss all things NRL.
Any top 8 predictions for the year, Premiers, etc?
Hopefully, this year the Roosters can stay injury-free.

Looking forward to the season ahead!!

You really tipping Roosters over Rabbitohs brah? I know anything can happen but fk me Roosters have been clunky lately.

They've looked terrible brah, they put in better performances/effort last year with half the team out haha.

Cowboys playing really well, also keen to see how far Broncos can go. Never been a big supporter of either but they're playing exciting football. Imagine letting Reynolds go lol..

Looks like Trent Barrett has been stood down as Bulldogs coach as well, man that club is a shadow of its former self, I remember in the early 00s they were a powerhouse club.

Born in NSW, lived in QLD my entire life. Whole family are lifelong NSW supporters, as am I. You can imagine what it was like living in QLD during the 8 year dynasty era being a hardcore NSW supporter. With Slater/Smith/Thurston now coaching and the stronger looking QLD team / slightly depleted NSW team (Turbo and Latrell out) I'm a little worried but obviously still hyped af.

The NRL has turned into an absolute laughing stock in recent times.
Week by week the bunker/on field officials somehow outdo the worst-decision-ever-made from the week before.
The end of the Tigers game approached Golden State Warriors level of intervention from the refs.
I also lol at the same people who were saying how exciting the young Panthers were a few years ago when they were up and coming... are now the same people who want Luai and Cleary to be murdered in the streets and apparently every single call goes Penrith's way. Just lol.

No pun intended but league is leagues ahead of union currently in terms of watchability and i say this as a lifelong union player
Red cards ruining competitive matches for accidental head contact is ridiculous. Red cards should only be for the most cynical of acts. The way league handles it is fantastic, put them on report, let them keep playing and deal with it after the match

One week high contact will see you sent off.
The same contact the next week won't be a penalty.
The same contact the next week will be a sin bin.
The same contact the next week will be a penalty at most.
