I'm no politician but I'm not sure how the west could deal with Putin directly. The fact remains, as you well know, that but for Putin's invasion death and destruction at the scale we're seeing would non existent. I have no dog in this fight - I support neither Ukraine nor Russia. But Russia is the aggressor here.

Did you miss my question - "Do you really think Putin would have stopped at the Ukraine border if no resistance was put forward?". Care to answer?
Thats a weird question, he didnt stop at the ukraine border. He went over it

so we can't deal with putin directly.
we obviously can't throw billions at the problem either as that really didn't deal with putin either.

it's really an impossible situation and we should of never gotten involved.

putin does not want to start chit with NATO.
so he would of stopped at NATO borders.
resistance or otherwise he is carrying out his plan and it is going to absolutely happen whether anyone wants it to or not and no amount of money or weapons put in the ukraines hands are going to change that so...

why drag it out?

Ahhhh that doesn’t mean anything, this is the R/P where everyone is an expert where their “sources” and “news” tell them more than the Sec Def could ever know.

Edit: don’t forget the straw men, that’s actually one of the most valid tools to be “right.”

I strongly disagree with this.

In my opinion, Putin's plan will not be happened and in the end Ukraine will maintain their pre-invasion borders, the west will be stronger and Russia will be much much weaker.

My God this. Russia military looks like a joke, NATO is more unified than ever, two neighboring countries on the fast track to joining, US taking center stage, Ukraine made out to be heroes anywhere that’s not Russia or China.

Alllllll according to plan.

It’s too much.

ukraine can't do it alone and even if he is adding more countries to the western alliance nobody in that alliance is actually doing something that makes an actual difference.

According to this dude it's already over

Remember that story about the azovs sending pics of dead soldiers to their mothers? Well according to this guy russian soldiers are giving captured ukrainian soldiers food, medicine, etc and then letting them call their parents to tell them how well they're being treated, so they'll spread the word and foment a favorable sentiment towards russia.

Well a madman would do things that are mad and i think that qualifies. The issue for me is that putin's take on ukraine has been consistent for at least 20 years. He's doing exactly what he said he would if provoked - take over eastern ukraine. This idea that people that get everything wrong read his mind and what he really wants is to invade europe seems nuts to me. And when you raise these questions with them they just start screeching about kremlin spies which just heightens that sense of insanity.

Did you miss the part where his generals told him Ukraine would surrender and welcome Russians? Why do you think hundreds of paratroopers were dropped on the outskirts of Kiev within the first 72 hours? Anyone with a brain can see that Poots thought most would defect INSIDE Kiev, the paratroopers would secure Hostomel airport, and he would fly in a mass amount of equipment and personal to secure Kiev and declare victory. This was literally his “special military operation”. It failed massively, and has continued to fail at every single point. About the only victory Poots can declare right now is Mauripol, even after both sides suffered massive losses and Russians killed 20,000+ civilians. He hasn’t and can’t secure the entire Donbass region, and he won’t be able to make Ukraine a land locked Country.

SO if he hasn’t used his entire military for whatever insane reason, when do you expect him to use it? You have to almost be brain damaged or mentally retarded to actually believe he isn’t using the full force of his military. Do you think they meant to have their flagship Moshka sank? Do you think they are OK with cities inside of Russia getting bombed daily? Why aren’t they using their “full force” to at least stop attacks inside their fukking border?

Here’s a hint, they can’t. They have a shiet tier military that has laundered probably over 50% of their military budget directly into the generals pockets and not on what it was supposed to be used on.

It's American involvement (weaponry and intel) inflicting overly inflated results for Ukraine.
