If you're unhappily married then get divorced.

If only it was that easy to get divorced. I go down that route with the attorneys and then it's so scary and overwhelming with assets, the thought of moving out and getting some crap condo instead of a nice house, pitting one person against the other that I say I'll deal with it tomorrow as it's too anxiety provoking. The grass isn't greener out there. I haven't met a single man in the past 16 years that I wish I was with today, with the exception of the model who is way out of my league and probably has annoying habits I don't know about.

I just enjoy traveling alone and my own company tbh.

Wait so you are married and choosing not to get divorced because it may inconvenience you slightly, and then going out and getting spit roasted by 20 year old dudes?

And the MISC is the one with the problem?

We stayed for our daughter as she even said she didn’t want to go back and forth between two houses. Plus houses go for $1.8 million on average in our area so it’s tough to sell and get a tiny condo for a million each.

We haven’t been romantic in 16 years. I moved out 3 times but it killed us financially to pay rent on top of a mortgage so I moved back home.

We say that we’ll divorce when she goes away to college in 1 year but it’s going to be tough and messy with our assets after almost 30 years of marriage. It’s just something I don’t want to deal with, but my therapist wants me to stop seeing young guys and focus on finding a life partner. Hence my dinner date with a 42 year old last night and we didn’t smash.

Life isn’t black and white. It sure gets complicated when you’re older.

The 42 year old from Bumble keeps texting me good morning texts but I didn't feel the chemistry with him. Even though he's cute, he doesn't do anything but work and watch TV. He doesn't even go the gym and I work out 6-7 days a week. It's weird as he was in the military.

I love to go on day trips around the area and he said he was bored by the beach towns and the other best places we have in California as he's new here.

He's a tradie and I'm a white collar worker, he never went to college, so we really don't have much in common other than we like restaurants and wine tasting. He said he's anti-social and has some PTSD from Afghanistan. Still, he's younger and I like younger men. I just feel a cringe every time he texts good morning but I don't want to hurt his feelings.

Maybe I should give a second date a try? He didn't push for a kiss or sex first date.

Hey guys, is Hinge the dating app to run? I signed up for a profile there on the recommendation of a college friend. Upside is there seems like more quality girls on there (maybe 20% vs the 0% on the free FB dating I was using). Downside is that there's a max 8 likes a day, and I understand that OLD is just max pics + numbers game mode. Pls halp.

You might want to fire your therapist.

At this point it's just a business arrangement. After 16 years of no sex and very little talking I don't even think of dating others as cheating. My therapist just wants me to find a life partner. I think she's hoping that will push me to divorce as well since I'm so reluctant to do it. Most people I know have someone else lined up before they divorced. I guess the Misc calls them monkey branchers

Yeah I think there are more quality people on Hinge. The max likes per day is annoying though so I forget to use it. I haven't met anyone IRL from Hinge. Just Bumble. But I'm a woman so I can't answer it from a male perspective.

My daughter's boyfriend is horrible. He's been sneaking around with this other girl and then on Saturday night he took the other girl to the prom because my daughter couldn't make it with her soccer game far away.

I just saw the prom pic of the two of them.

My husband and I were just talking about why she is still even talking to the guy. She told me that she likes having a boyfriend and that most high school boys suck. But she gets snapchats from boys anywhere she goes. She's very pretty and outgoing and dresses to attract attention.

I'm afraid that our staying together has shown her a bad example of a relationship. Plus my husband is really rude or won't even speak to me when I ask him a question so what does that tell her about how a man treats a woman?

The younger generation is going to have very blurred lines in relationships with the amount they give out their social media to potential suitors. I'm sure the current bf won't last and she'll be better for it when it ends.

Yes your situation could 100% affect her view of relationships. Your husband put you in some really difficult situations leveraging what he wanted (the house)+using your daughter against you when you wanted to split so try not to be too hard on yourself for it but you should address this with your therapist and prepare for some conversations you may want to have with your daughter as she matures into an adult.

Yeah I won't let myself bring it to me in a deep depression as I talked to my therapist about. I mean when I moved out when she was 2 I was dating guys who were drug addicts and one had a criminal background, so those would have been terrible to bring around her. In fact my ex found out and he was going to use the losers I dated against me to get full custody so I would have never have seen her.

Since then I've been dating better men.

Life isn't black and white. I learned that, and yes she's female.

Divorce is hard but I feared losing my daughter more. I had to be with her every night regardless of the cost. She is more important than a guy. I probably have an unhealthy attachment towards her as I'm a clingy Mom but I've had to learn to step back.

And of course the Army guy found me on another app and reached out to me and said that blocking me yet again was ****ed up. I don't understand this fascination with blocking. It's really annoying.

I don't understand why these men block and unblock me. It's been going on for years with 2 of these guys and one I finally ended it in a passive aggressive way.

If you block someone why not keep them blocked? Or is this s stupid game?

Some block when they start dating someone and unblock when they breakup.

Others may block you when they get frustrated they aren't getting what they want, or are annoyed, and then unblock when their well is running dry.

Thanks skinnyfat. It’s really annoying and immature. If I’m seeing someone else I inform the guy and if he keeps harassing me to meet up after I tell him I’m not available 3 times then I block him.

But I have these 2 ex FWB long distance guys who have been doing this for years. I suspect they find someone new, block me and then unblock when they break up. I wouldn’t put up with it if they weren’t super nice and easy to talk to, as well as super hot.

I guess it’s tough with the one guy as I really had strong feels for him. I’ve never had that type of chemistry and he agreed that it’s off the charts. Plus both of them come back to my area to visit family.

Asked out this girl at the gas station register a week ago. She said no but was cool about it.

I came back this week with a tank and a pump then asked her about her resume like nothing happened. She's looking for a new job but has never made a resume.

I offered to help next time I show up and she accepted it. I know she said no the first time but based on our last interaction she might be on the fence now.

Even if nothing comes of it it's good practice, but if she's receptive to my tips I'm just going to get her number.

Do you ever call them out on their actions and ask why they can't tell you what's up when they come crawling back?

Do you still think they'd seem as "nice" if they were straight up with you rather than using kindness and attention to get what they want?

Yeah I call them out on their actions. The Army guy keeps saying he won’t do it again and on Monday he said it’s tucked up that he does that to me. But then he went and blocked me again on IG but still has me unblocked on WhatsApp. He blocked me on WhatsApp a month ago.

The other guy is from my gym and this nonsense has been going on for 10 years as his Dad says he doesn’t approve of our 20 year age difference but Gym Guy says he can’t stop thinking about me. He even says he stalks my ******** and has created female fake accounts for me to add on ********.

I’m not sure even what they want because it’s not like I can have sex with them now at a distance. Maybe attention and validation in between girlfriends? Or loneliness? Or all of that?

I offered to help next time I show up and she accepted it. I know she said no the first time but based on our last interaction she might be on the fence now.

Even if nothing comes of it it's good practice, but if she's receptive to my tips I'm just going to get her number.
Good for you for doing cold approach! Fingers crossed that she’ll give you her number.

gave up on dating for now. Just enjoying my sugarbabies. Screw dating a demiwhale who puts in no effort to hold a conversation. I'm not going past using my 8 hinge likes a day and messaging girls "hi, wanna hang out". If something comes of it, great. If not, I'm still getting 8/10 pussy on tap.
